Still grateful to @realsway + @itstracyg + @thehappyhourwhb + @iammikemuse for having me
—
I realized I never shared this full interview. So good!
—
This was one of my favorite interviews because it felt like I was amongst friends. We chatted about everything, on and off camera. The energy was so genuine.
—
I am clear that being offered an opportunity to share a platform like this is a privilege.
—
THANK YOU!! And I’m coming back lol

If “LIFT AS YOU CLIMB” was a person, it would be me.
—
Usually, I’m humble about what I’ve accomplished but this @black.and.forth farmer’s market was a dream for real!! I’ve wanted a market for so long. This wasn’t small. This was a big deal.
—
So, I am not so modestly stating that I’m sure what I’ve done for 22nd & Channing Streets, only I could’ve done. Target couldn’t come in and provide the community, energy and economic development that I have. Fight me on this!
—
To have re-developed this block with a grant and my own revenue, not a single credit card or construction loan was major. This is rare. And to do it as a small business owner makes me so proud of myself.
—
To be able to host free community business classes, free pop ups and now a free farmer’s market (the vendors don’t pay me anything), is a blessing. I am so grateful.
—
We welcomed at least 500 guests to our inaugural block party to kick off our ALL BLACK FARMER’S MARKET!!
—
See y’all at the next one
—
Note: we are not looking for vendors unless you sell fresh produce and/or dairy. If you do, DM us ASAP!!
—
Y’all coming on 5/14?
—
Thank you

Lots of new followers!!
—
Peace y’all! I’m Angel. Owner of Black and Forth and @thespicesuite
—
I’m a DC Native, Howard University graduate (undergrad and graduate school) and community servant.
—
I purchased this space in order to show us what cooperative economics looks like in action. I also wanted to start a National conversation about making commercial space affordable. There’s lots of talk about affordable housing but in order for us to bring back Black Wall Street and Hayti, Durham, we need to address systemic and institutional racism, mass incarceration, illiteracy and the psychological impacts of poverty.
—
But first. THOSE OF US WHO CAN HELP, SHOULD HELP!!
—
We don’t need to wait until we have a seat at the table before we bring someone else along. Sometimes kicking in the door to even get in the room will require several of us with boots to kick it in- together!!
—
So here I am, kicking. Pulling. Lifting. Climbing. Teaching.
—
We will begin offering free classes via Community Business School. See our website for more on this and to donate

They call it seasoning. I call it product. 🫣😭
—

Moving the most pure, uncut, straight-from-the-source product. No fillers. No stepping on the oregano. 😂
—
But really yall. Just premium herbs, bomb blends, and flavor so potent you might have to cut it with rice. Ok, I’m done lol
