Chocolate cake is definitely a favorite.

There are many things I do to make mine extra special.

One thing I like to do is mix the sugars. I combine cane and brown sugar to give my chocolate cakes an extra chewy texture. Think flakey brownie.

The next step is mixing chocolate powders. I have found a few ones that taste much better than others. It’s all personal preference. I love @addictivewellness and their wild purple cacao powder mixes as a purple and turns into a deep almost velvety red color once baked. It’s so good!

I ALWAYS under bake my chocolate cakes just slightly. Your cakes will continue to bake once taken out of the oven, so this is an important step. I use a knife to test the center. It will come out slightly gooey.

The ingredient that changes every chocolate cake is free. It’s boiling water. The hot water activates the cacao making a much stronger flavor, but more importantly it adds so much moisture to my desserts. I add the boiling water at the very end, once I’ve mixed the wet and dry ingredients.

When mixing, the batter will appear runny but that’s exactly how you want it. 🤎

I’m Jenefer and this is a 9” organic rose olive oil cake with vanilla buttercream. I decorated it with flowers including ones grown in my own garden, a garden I’ve been pouring love into for 9 years. I asked God to make me a business owner. I prayed that He would use my gifts to touch the lives of others. If you get the chance to taste one, I really think you’ll be able to taste the love that goes into them.
