When I first get my I remind myself to say “thank you” every single morning.

This is our routine. I wake up, make my bed, go outside with the dogs, make coffee and read the Bible.

Discipline keeps me in check. I DEPEND on this routine heavily before I can start my business day.

I’ve always been the girl to get excited about puppies. Give me flowers, puppies, and something sweet (ironically, cake), and I’ll be smiling forever. I am glowing with joy over these portraits of my babies and me, photographed by @megsandu . You made me the happiest girl in the world! 🤍

🩵 Every morning I ask the Holy Spirit to enter my heart and fill me so that I’m overflowing. The Holy Spirit will speak SO specifically to you. Listen to that voice.

John 16:13
“He will guide you into all the truth. For He will not speak His own message; but He will tell whatever He hears.”

🩵 Then I pray in gratitude and thank God for every little thing.

🩵 I talk out loud to God and share what’s on my heart and ask Him for what I need help with.

🩵 Recommendations:

-Clean your home. Keep it tidy. A clean home supports a clean mind and working/resting space.

-Keep your phone off until you’re in a space of peace.

-Put yourself first before you do anything for anyone else. When you’re at your best, you show up as your best for others.

-Get outside and get fresh air.

-Write what’s on your heart and in your mind. It always helps to get everything onto paper.

Chocolate cake is definitely a favorite.

There are many things I do to make mine extra special.

One thing I like to do is mix the sugars. I combine cane and brown sugar to give my chocolate cakes an extra chewy texture. Think flakey brownie.

The next step is mixing chocolate powders. I have found a few ones that taste much better than others. It’s all personal preference. I love @addictivewellness and their wild purple cacao powder mixes as a purple and turns into a deep almost velvety red color once baked. It’s so good!

I ALWAYS under bake my chocolate cakes just slightly. Your cakes will continue to bake once taken out of the oven, so this is an important step. I use a knife to test the center. It will come out slightly gooey.

The ingredient that changes every chocolate cake is free. It’s boiling water. The hot water activates the cacao making a much stronger flavor, but more importantly it adds so much moisture to my desserts. I add the boiling water at the very end, once I’ve mixed the wet and dry ingredients.

When mixing, the batter will appear runny but that’s exactly how you want it. 🤎

Happy baking! Or happy tasting!

Every day I set time aside to meditate on these things…

whatever things are

true
noble
just
lovely
of good report
praiseworthy

For me, that’s the beauty of nature and the pure love of my pets, good food, living slowly and just the quietness all around.

This is vital for my mental health. taken in Malibu, California by @jenefertaylor

To create a gorgeous table for your guests, these are my tips:

1. Work with what you have in your home. Build a center and then work everything around that. I like picking a theme. Mine always incorporates a @bluemmalibu cake.

2. Incorporate nature.

3. Don’t be afraid to mix and match. Not everything has to match. Just choose items that you love! Nothing has to be perfect.

4. Add warm lighting like Christmas lights and candles.

5. Mix your chairs at the table. It makes everything look more curated and unique.

Word of the day: RE.

I know it’s not a word on its own, but it is for me.

Renewal of my mind.
Renewal of my heart.

Refresh. Restore. Restock. Renew. Replenish.

A little reset can make room for a fresh start. ✨ taken in Malibu, California by @jenefertaylor
