Books make the best gifts, and I’m so proud of these two!
Our Fermented Lives was such a labor of love, the combination of many of my skills and passions, and a book that has changed by life for the better.
Available wherever books are sold!

The Hidden Cosmos came to me in a sudden flash of inspiration, followed by quiet mornings spent creating the words and images for each card, 1-2 per day. This has served as both guide and launchpad for much of my work to come.
You can find yours at root-kitchens.com or on Etsy
(And leave a comment for me in the order notes if you’d like me to add a gift message!) by @bookishjulia

I’m standing on a bridge in the city I dreamed of moving to years ago, having walked down the hill from the perfect house with a cute garden, to go meet some of my many friends in a place where each day is rich and full, even the hard days.

I never imagined this move was possible, until bit by bit I allowed myself to imagine that it *might* be and then the big dream that seemed to big to dare thinking about became the reality I live every day. I’m so grateful that I built a life where my dreams come true by @bookishjulia

Today is my first guest appearance on a kids’ show! I’ve done many appearances on news shows, podcasts, etc but kids’ TV is fun new territory!

I decided to wear this dress my friend Jes gave me ages ago, which feels like the ideal kid show outfit.

The show is recorded but I’ll be sure to share when it’s live! by @bookishjulia

This is the face of a woman who saw a nice sunset and had the camera turned around the wrong way when she went to take a photo (I figured it out eventually) by @bookishjulia

Thank you to the magical @trishaocallaghantoc for my new tattoo! For those aware of my year this year, taking the Tower card and turning it into a playful structure is 100% fitting! by @bookishjulia

My next writing workshop, Bloom, helps you build a lifelong, sustainable, creative practice that makes dreams a reality and makes writing a joy again.

I hear almost weekly from folks who YEARS later are still are feeling the effects of the work we do together in this space, and I want that for you, too.

Use the code CREATE for 20% off early pricing, or comment below and I'll send you an extra special code for an even bigger discount! by @bookishjulia

Fire cider 2025 —> fire cider 2026
Making my fav immune tonic with foraged fruit, garden herbs and nettles, veg grown by friends, and a few cooking scraps + bits from the grocery store discount bin.
I try to make a few of these each year so I’ve got enough for me and for friends.

Find my fire cider technique in my fermentation and preserving books (all from @storeypub!) or in my paid newsletter.
I also might teach a class on it again, if folks are interested! by @bookishjulia

I’ve pushed the deadline back for this scholarship again because of tech glitches that kept folks from applying this weekend.

SO, if you tried to apply (it takes about 5 minutes) and it didn’t work, please try again. As always, let me know if you have questions. I can’t wait to welcome everyone into this very special workshop next month!
