I try to enjoy every moment in the nature, even the rainy days. Presence is the hard part, it’s always easier to pass by. To achieve that I use my camera, always looking for motives. by @borgeousland

Our preparations for the South Pole last degree expedition, departing in December this year, are well underway!

We were warmly welcomed at @snooslo , just outside Oslo, for Day 2 of our polar expedition training. The focus was on developing and refining our skiing techniques and building confidence on the skis.

Every training session is an important step towards the ultimate goal: reaching the South Pole through teamwork and determination!

One step, one ski stride, and one day at a time — the adventure is getting closer!

Meet the @ousland.colliard team, starting with founder and legend @borgeousland

Børge’s contribution to polar history is difficult to fully grasp. His achievements span solo expeditions, pioneering routes, and ambitious team ventures. Yet, behind every record lies not recklessness, but rigorous preparation, broad experience, and uncompromising standards—both for himself and those he chooses to bring along. His success is measured not only in firsts, but in the fact that he is still here to tell the stories!

Today, we bid a final farewell to our beloved King Harald V.
Throughout his long service to Norway, he met countless people, so there is nothing particularly unique about this photograph. It was taken in Anchorage in May 2015, after Vincent Colliard and I had crossed the Stikine Icefield.
And yet, King Harald had a remarkable ability to make everyone he met feel special. He showed genuine interest, asked thoughtful questions about our expedition, and spoke with us about outdoor life in general.
He was a king for the people, truly, the grandfather of the whole nation. Warm, inclusive, and deeply respected.
We could not have asked for a better king. He will be greatly missed. 🤍🇳🇴

Great to reconnect with my friend and fellow explorer, @polarhubwenxu Wen Xu. It’s inspiring to see a new generation of explorers pushing the limits of what’s possible while highlighting the protection of our natural world.

Wen and I were at the North Pole together back in 2009. He has now returned from Mount Everest, where he and his team successfully drilled the first ice core from the summit—an extraordinary achievement that will help deepen our understanding of climate change.

Looking forward to follow your next adventures Wen, keep up with the good work!

We often get asked:
“Are you a guiding company?”

No.
We are polar explorers.

Exploration is what drives us. It’s who we are.

Since 1994, we’ve crossed the Arctic and Antarctica, skied to the poles, and pushed into places where there are no trails, no infrastructure, and no guarantees.

We invite you to join us.

Not as tourists.
Not as clients on a guided trip.

But as participants in real expeditions sharing the challenges, the uncertainty, and the experience of life in the polar regions.

We don’t start with guiding and add exploration.
We start with exploration.

That’s the difference.

Polar explorers first. by @borgeousland

He is one of the greatest polar explorers of our time… 🧊 @borgeousland has spent his life crossing the most remote regions on Earth from the North Pole to Antarctica, in conditions where every decision matters.

But in this episode of En tête-à-tête, recorded at the @banffmountainfestival , he doesn’t talk about exploration the way we usually expect.
He speaks about what he has seen change. About ice that is no longer the same. About landscapes that disappear faster than we realize.

Through his expeditions, Børge has become more than an explorer. He has become a witness.
We also talk about solitude, not as isolation, but as a space for reflection. About teamwork, trust, and what it means to rely on others in extreme environments. And about this shift: from pushing limits… to choosing what to stand for.
