Big news from our friends at Casa Bikes in Cambridge!

Casa Bikes is donating two road bikes to our Annual Member Celebration raffle fundraiser, and we couldn’t be more grateful!

Here’s how it works: every ticket you purchase automatically enters you to win one of the bikes. No extra steps, no separate entry. Just grab a ticket and you’re in.

Every ticket does more than give you a shot at a new ride. Your purchase directly supports the advocacy work we do to make our streets safer and more welcoming for everyone who bikes.

Thank you Casa Bikes, for your generosity, and for being such a generous community partner and BCU supporter.

Get your raffle ticket at the link in our bio!

On Sunday, the City of Boston announced the return of Hub on Wheels.

October is Pedestrian Safety Month. While national trends show progress in road safety, Massachusetts is moving backward. 🚨

We cannot accept rising pedestrian fatalities as an inevitable cost of transportation. It’s time for:
 * Statewide policy changes
 * Lower speed limits in residential areas
 * Dedicated funding for walkability and safe crossings

This must stop. 🛑

Join us in demanding actionable street design changes from local and state leaders.

Upcoming Events:
 * Boston Ride for Your Life: October 25 (Hosted by @rideforyourlifeorg)
 * State House Vision Zero Day: November 10 @massbike @familiesforsafestreets @streetsboston @bostoncyclistsunion @sidneys_rainbows

This morning, the City of Boston announced safety improvements for the Tremont and Parker intersection to be implemented starting next week, the same location where we lost Louisa exactly three months ago today.

We’re grateful for these safety improvements and for their immediate implementation. At the same time, we would like to see action citywide. We need an updated Vision Zero Action Plan, a citywide Bicycle Network Plan, and a Safe Streets Ordinance.

FYI: If you’re a Mission Hill resident, save the date for a community transportation meeting for further safety improvements on the Tremont St Corridor! Information is in the post.

And finally, thank you @bosstreetscabinet for your collaboration with advocates and hard work to make our streets safer. by @bostoncyclistsunion
