I’m very happy to present to you ‘Feo Maneno’, my graduation project for the Master Contextual Design at @designacademyeindhoven !!

The ‘Vango Vango’ is a traditional Malagasy silver ‘jonc’, a potent symbol of remembrance linked to Madagascar’s history of slavery. French-Malagasy designer Thibaud Kanty Boto has worn one since childhood, growing up with its profound significance. Today, however, this cultural artefact risks being reduced to a tourist souvenir, stripped of its deeper meaning.

‘Feo Maneno’ is a sound installation that stages a call-and-response between traditional Malagasy sounds and motor-driven hammers, echoing the hammering of silver ingots used to craft the ‘Vango Vango’. Through programmed, repetitive strikes, ancestral craft gestures are translated into rhythm.

These mechanical hammers do not simply replicate traditional music; they enter into dialogue with it. Their precise, controlled strikes generate ambiguous rhythmic textures that prompt reflection on cultural transmission, historical violence, and embodied memory through the reinterpretation of craft. The work explores how sound can become a medium of resistance and preservation.

We often associate a graduation project with one person, but this one wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible guidance of my tutors @afainadejong @margaweimans @gabriel.a.maher_studio @jorgemanesrubio and many more.
Also without the unwavering support of @liloulemonnier @erenaybilgin @baidageorge @phoebeeyyy @lillyalexxandra @d_crichlow @enissay.b @vn_valentin @olfa_rachdi @swen0207 who have been there every step of the way. Thank you from the heart.

‘TAKE SOME BUTTER’ _ 🍞🧈

My dream toasts, a series of small leather weavings born from a very simple idea.
How to twist the morning routine?

These pieces were part of TOASTLAND, an exhibition imagined by Rose Daher and curated by Adria Vallejo, held at POP UP DU LABEL @galeriedupopup from September 18–23, 2025.

The show gathered 30 designers, all connected through one shared starting point: the toast. Together, our creations formed a collective landscape where each toast became a unique piece.

Big thanks to @rosedhr and @adria.vallejo for organising TOASTLAND and for offering a space to rethink the toast as an object.

‘TAKE SOME BUTTER’ _ 🍞🧈

Handiskate - 2022
adapted skateboard for people with reduced mobility

The custom-made structure can be easily assembled and adjusted to fit children’s and adults’ sizes thanks to aluminium profiles and its connections. The end parts are 3d printed.
The project was built on a workshop atmosphere, in team through experimentation in volume directly. We also worked in partnership with the association’s physiotherapist, so that the structure is really adapted to the target.

Handiskate - 2022
adapted skateboard for people with reduced mobility

Flashback to a project I had the opportunity to take part in during my internship at @duplex.studio

A few words from them:
The association Run & Wheels commissioned us to develop an adapted skateboard for people with reduced mobility. The goal was to make skateboarding and its feelings accessible to everybody.

GIO - a lamp made of stone offcuts and 3d printed bio-plastic.

A few words from @duplex.studio :

We seek to involve people to work with local materials that embody the specificities of the regions and the geological landscape. Through democratic manufacturing methods, Gio shows the possibilities of producing our own finished objects.
All the information regarding the process can be found on our website and @wikifactoryhq page.

Through open-source ideology, Gio explored the accessibility to qualitative products. Design globally but produce locally.

Many thanks again to the @duplex.studio

GIO - a lamp made of stone offcuts and 3d printed bio-plastic.

A few words from @duplex.studio :

We think of Gio as a system which embodies local production innovation:

We used offcuts of Belgian stones called "Hainault blue stone" from @carrieresduhainaut as the Gio structure. We decided to use durable, noble and time-resistant material offcuts to keep resources in circulation. The use of materials that become more beautiful with time is a way to bring longevity to objects. The stone was milled with a "@mekanika.io " CNC, an affordable open-source CNC router.

The technical and adaptable parts were 3D printed with mussels, coffee, wheat and scallop filaments from @francofil_officiel

GIO - a lamp made of stone offcuts and 3d printed bio-plastic.

It's been just over a year since I had the opportunity and good fortune to join the Duplex Studio team as part of my second-year internship, for a period of 4 months. I'd like to thank the whole team: Gaston, Hippolyte, Arnaud, Aldo and Clément, for their warm welcome and trust. This internship has provided me with a wealth of knowledge that has enabled me to develop my practice and my vision of design.
I'd like to share with you some of the projects I've worked on.

A few words from @duplex.studio :

Gio, a lamp made of stone offcuts and 3d printed bio-plastic.

Based on the Distributive Design Mouvement, Gio tackles how finished products are made while improving the designer/producer/customer's relationship.Through its design process, Gio discusses local production, knowledge sharing and production sovereignty.

TARATASY - lampe
