POSTS STORIES REELS

I’m shifting toward being more open and honest about my big picture and how ultra running has changed my life. There are a lot of new followers over the past month and I get a ton of amazing questions in the DM’s about my past.

I don’t want to hide behind who I am anymore and should lay it all out on the table.

I want people to know WHY my focus is on ultramarathon. I want to share this “why” with you. I want tell more than the story of training.

I want to show how ultra marathon is the glue that keeps me together and how it has changed my life.

This is still very much so an ultra marathon focused page so don’t run away just yet (see what I did there). I just want to show how I use ultra to make everything in my life better. I want to talk about my recovery. I want to tell you about my manic highs and lows. I want to tell you what it’s like being a dad.

I see this moment as an opportunity to grow as a person. I hope you stick around 👊🏻 by @bradfinn_ny

Javelina Jundred 2024 saw record highs and a 100 Mile PB for me at that time!

What an incredible race. So much fun. It’s a shame what a money grab it’s become. Not sure I can ever afford to go back, but so jealous of everyone out there on the start line today! by @bradfinn_ny

Just the kind of tough day I was looking for!
On to the next! by @bradfinn_ny

Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
On the track or on the road where obstacles are limited it may be way more realistic to have pace goals.
Move off the road and extend the distance and these time based goals become even more unrealistic.

A pro may know a course record or past winners times to give them an idea of where they have to be to win, but even they are just running their own race and pushing themselves to the best finish they can have that day.

As soon as you start trying to set pace and time goals the fast things may start to unravel and mess with your mind race days.

Just push hard. That will be fast enough. by @bradfinn_ny

Proud of this one!

My 6th 100 and 5th finish
I changed my training.
I changed my why.
I changed my mindset.

I found the best version of myself! by @bradfinn_ny

“I just want to finish” should not be the goal. Of course you want to finish! Everyone wants to finish.
Here’s my new approach by @bradfinn_ny

UTMB Kodiak 100M
100 Miles is far.
Each one comes with its own set of challenges. I used to think those challenges were excuses for why A goals were not hit. (Or even B or C goals🤣) But the more of these I do, the more I realize they aren’t excuses. They are just apart of the experience. They are challenges you either give into or battle to overcome. Sometimes I give in, this time I battled. My stomach issues are not the reason I was out there for over 32 hours. Stomach issues are just apart of the day sometimes. Sometimes it’s feet issues. Sometimes it’s weather. Sometimes you pushed too hard early. These are the things you show up to the line ready to overcome. And hopefully you have people there to help you overcome them. I could not get there alone. Tara Finn deserves credit for this finish more than I do.
This may have been my slowest 100 miler to date, but the one I will probably remember the most. The memories and humility are what I love most.
Thank you so much for the 100’s of messages i got out there. I saw them all!
And to my new friends, I can’t wait till we meet again. Congrats to @mounttocoast pro @cody_poskin for a monster win. Dude is super human and equally a good dude.
Now it’s time to enjoy “never again” phase of racing, get back to the 9-5 life, and let my body heal. Bring on ski season. 👊🏻 by @bradfinn_ny

Everyone’s got a plan till they punched in the face, or the stomach in my case!
Kodiak didn’t disappoint. They are always harder than expected, and this was no different.
So many stories to tell and memories to have for ever! More to come as I unpack this all!
