Between running the tasting menu at @ernest.sf and earning a James Beard semifinalist nod for Best Chef: California, Brandon Rice (@brandonrice123 ) doesn’t have much time for personal dining. When he does? He’s spending them eating at these Bay Area spots. Link in bio for his full rotation. taken in San Francisco, California by @brandonrice123

We’ve got a special guest in the kitchen. ✨

In partnership with @OpenTable and @Visa, Ernest is teaming up with guest chef @jonny_black_cuisinier of @cheznoircarmel as part of Friends in Town—a series that brings chefs together from across the country.

For one night only—on June 16th—Chef Jonny Black joins Chef Brandon Rice for a limited-edition collaboration you won’t see again. Reserve your table via the link in bio. taken in Ernest San Francisco by @brandonrice123

Five years is no small feat. It’s a celebration of the consistent hard work of our team. It’s a thank you to you, our guests and community, for being a part of our evenings, for celebrating your big moments with us, and for being what keeps us inspired. And an another big thank you to our friends and family for supporting us time and time again. Cheers to another five years together. Let’s go!

We want to take a moment to congratulate @brandonrice123 on being selected as a @beardfoundation semifinalist for Best Chef California for the 2026 James Beard Awards.

This nomination reflects many years of showing up with intention, curiosity, and respect for the work. Chef Brandon is a relentless student of the craft, a committed leader, a loving husband and father, and a friend.

This nomination is also a reflection of our incredible team who share the same ethos of curiosity and commitment to creating something good. And a nod to our incredibly supportive community of guests, farmers, purveyors, and friends.

We’re honored to represent the San Francisco Bay Area alongside our talented friends and incredible independent restaurant community.

And a bi-coastal congratulations to our longtime friend and Northeast nominee, @chefchrisgould of @_centralprovisions_
