this post was WAYYY overdue—but better late than never!
last weekend, i attended the summer clinics for both Infinity and Stryke percussion, and i am more than happy to tell y’all about my experience!
the morning blocks for both clinics started out in subs, where we focused on technique in bass drumming and went over the sheet music given to us beforehand, to prep for the afternoon block. while i’ve heard a lot of the information the techs said many times prior, they all explained in different ways that made me more conscious about my technique and sound quality (in a really good way). as it was near to lunch, the block for Infinity ended with a short Q&A, while Stryke had a visual block covering dance and marching fundamentals—i think i did well considering i was wearing crocs.
the afternoon blocks were different from both clinics—while Stryke went back to subs and ended in a full battery block, Infinity provided two master classes of our choosing before ending in full battery. the two classes i chose were about doing percussion professionally, choreography. the full battery blocks are always my favorite part, whether it’s playing on a drum with homies or creating new ways to chop out on a pad.
either way, both clinics were super fun and super educational!!! it was nice stepping into new territory with Infinity, and it was great reconnecting with Stryke again. if you have an opportunity for any summer clinics like this—do it, i promise it’s worth it!!!

hey!! happy #throwbackthursday ! sorry for not posting in a while—everything is just going on at the same time and once i can navigate thru it, i’ll post more practice vids!
this video was from my first ever marching season back in 2019–we had our evaluation in the morning and a separate comp that night and obv, my expression at the end of the video explains it all lol. i thought it would be funny to post so here it is!

yooo!!! it may have took a minute but i got another video for y’all! this is part of an exercise from when i marched Stryke last year, called King. i decided to do the splitting excerpt because if i did the whole exercise, it would be too long to post.
i’ll be super honest. getting a decent recording with all parts was a pain!! but, while there are some funky moments with spacing between 16th notes, i’m stoked that it’s readable, as well as there being cool moments as well. it’s also my first time recording something with 6 parts (which y’all will def see more of), so i’m happy about that too.
as always, sheets are on the next slide!! recording sequence was 1,3,2,4,6,5.

hey guys! i have two clips for yall today—i got a double paradiddles grid in 110 bpm and 125 bpm!
i’ll be honest, for the 125 rep, it took me a LONGGG time to get a good rep. i even had to call it a night while practicing because i got a blister on my left hand—but hey, no pain no gain, right?
i’m proud with the even spacing i have with both tempos, but i think something i can work on is keeping my taps low and maintaining a better sound quality, especially with the higher tempo.
comments/feedback are super appreciated, and sheets are on slide 3!!

mornin guys! welcome to the account!
for this being my FIRST video, i’m playing all five parts to an exercise from my first independent season from FIU, called Papa’s Pears!
main thing i noticed is the unisons sounding a bit funky, but i’m really proud with the 16th note and threes runs in the beginning. i’m also proud of the 16th note bugadahs at the end, since it took multiple reps for the second partial to be decent.
overall, not bad for coming home from college the day before lol.
recording sequence for each part is 1,5,3,4,2.
sheets are on slide 2!
