Sculpture, limited editions and original works, gathered for @lockehotels Copenhagen. We commissioned @tildegrynnerup sculptures for the project; her father and grandfather worked in Postbyen when it was the city’s postal district, and her work now stands in the building that replaced it.
Alongside them, a collection curated in collaboration with @bricksgallery_cph the contemporary gallery in Nørrebro that works with emerging and established artists. The selection at Locke includes works by Hvass&Hannibal, Mathias Malling Mortensen, Inka Bell and Martha Skou. taken in Copenhagen, Dennmark by @bricksgallery_cph

We congratulate gallery artist Inka Bell on the inauguration of her new commissioned sculpture, 'Sini', at Hanaholmen’s Art Park, Espoo, Finland.

Named after the Finnish word for blue (sininen), 'Sini' responds to its natural surroundings and changing light through a deep monochromatic hue. The sculpture joins the Hanaholmen Art Collection — comprising nearly 300 Nordic works — and honors the legacy of Finnish concrete and constructivist art.

Curated by Maaretta Jaukkuri and manufactured by Jukka Merta / Selki-asema, the sculpture was donated to the park by the L-G Nordström Foundation.

Inka Bell (b. 1981) is a Finnish visual artist based in Helsinki, known for her work in printmaking, paper sculptures, and public installations. She holds an MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts at the University of the Arts Helsinki (2021). Recent exhibitions include ’Rock, Paper, Scissors’ at the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma (2025) and ’Experiments in Concretism’ at EMMA – Espoo Museum of Modern Art (2024). She was awarded the William Thuring Main Prize in 2024 and nominated for the Queen Sonja Print Award in both 2024 and 2020. Her works are included in significant Finnish public art collections, as well as in the European Parliament’s Contemporary Art Collection.

Happy 50th birthday to gallery artist Sune Christiansen, born on this day in 1976.

Working across painting, ceramics, and graphics, Christiansen creates playful and expressive figurative abstractions that explore themes of intimacy, sexuality, power, and ritual through vibrant colors and distorted realities.

Installation views of ‘High and Dry’, a solo exhibition by Sune Christiansen. The exhibition is on view through November 7.

In works where no human figures are present, organic shapes, bright colours, and dense textures fuse into cohesive compositions. Even at their most abstract, Christiansen’s works still suggest underlying stories, embodying atmosphere and the balance between
movement and stillness.

[...] These accessible motifs invite dialogue, turning the viewing experience into a shared conversation about individual and collective perception. Over time, Christiansen has developed his own visual language, with an ability to evoke atmosphere and presence regardless of where his paintings exist on the figurative-abstract spectrum.
