POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Sculpture, limited editions and original works, gathered for @lockehotels Copenhagen. We commissioned @tildegrynnerup sculptures for the project; her father and grandfather worked in Postbyen when it was the city’s postal district, and her work now stands in the building that replaced it.
Alongside them, a collection curated in collaboration with @bricksgallery_cph the contemporary gallery in Nørrebro that works with emerging and established artists. The selection at Locke includes works by Hvass&Hannibal, Mathias Malling Mortensen, Inka Bell and Martha Skou.

Now open – ‘High and Dry’, a solo exhibition by Sune Christiansen at @bricksgallery_cph

Sune Christiansen’s paintings often begin with a specific shape in a vibrant colour: a bright blue rectangle, an imperfect pink triangle, or a pitch-dark circle reminiscent of a black hole. Step by step, he builds each painting by adding further coloured surfaces and forms, pairing distinct elements together. The result is a series of atmospheric compositions filled with movement and tactility, exploring the interplay between figuration and abstraction, the familiar and the unknown, and how these relationships reshape our way of seeing.

Last chance to see It Wouldn’t Be the Same Without You — now in its final week, on view through September 19.

On view as part of It Wouldn’t Be the Same Without You, a solo exhibition by Jon Erik Nyholm.

Of course, it wouldn’t be the same without you and without the landscape. Without the memories and recollection, and without any preconceived images of what the world and its inhabitants look like. Without a collective history or point of origin.

Our hands are tied behind our backs and we are blindfolded on our way through Nyholm’s grand garden.

But the path lights up and we can feel the warmth in our feet. Whether we are moving in the right direction is unknown. Perhaps it is irrelevant, as long as we and the landscape remain in motion.

Text by Peter Larsen

The exhibition is on view through September 19.
