Thirteen years ago, I walked through the doors of Suzette’s Masters of Dance without knowing how much this place would become my second home. This weekend, I performed for the last time as a Suzettes dancer. I don’t think words will ever be enough to express what this studio has given me.

This wasn’t just a place where I learned to dance. It was where I grew up. My teachers watched me through every stage of my life—the little girl who was scared to go on stage, the countless hours of rehearsals, the victories, the disappointments, the tears, the laughter, and every moment in between. Every moment I spent here has shaped me into the person I am today.

It’s heartbreaking knowing that the constant memories I have had every year will be just memories. won’t have our daily cubby room talks, won’t have our first Monday extra practice. And won’t get to experience charging up and getting ready to take the stage.

To every teacher who believed in me even when I didn’t believe in myself, thank you. Thank you for pushing me to be stronger, for seeing potential in me, and for teaching me lessons that reached far beyond dance. To every teammate who stood beside me, thank you for becoming family that I’ll carry with me forever. You made every long rehearsal, every happy tear, and every difficult day worth it.

Suzette’s Masters of Dance gave me so much more than technique—it gave me confidence, discipline, lifelong friendships, and a place where I always belonged. No matter where life takes me, a piece of my heart will always remain inside these walls.

Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do because I’m not just leaving a dance studio—I’m leaving the place that raised me. Thank you for thirteen unforgettable years.
