Free classes, pizza, or resilience training won’t solve the problem.

Workplaces just don’t know enough about the real experience of stress and burnout and what to actually do and not do!

I didn’t create Queer Strength Club because I wanted people to change their bodies.

I created it because I wanted more LGBTQIA+ people to feel at home in them. 💜

For a lot of us, movement comes with baggage.

Maybe it’s gym culture.
Maybe it’s being watched.
Maybe it’s not seeing people like us in fitness spaces.
Maybe it’s years of feeling disconnected from our bodies.

Queer Strength Club is my attempt to do things differently.

We focus on regulation over reps.
Connection over comparison.
Strength that feels sustainable, not punishing.

It’s a space where you can show up exactly as you are, move at your own pace, adapt when you need to, and build confidence in your body alongside other LGBTQIA+ people.

No pressure to perform.
No expectation to keep up.
Just movement, community, and joy.

Welcome to Queer Strength Club. 🌈

It’s hard to talk about the struggles.

But the past 12 months have been tough. Too much change in one go. Relocating, uprooting, endings, beginnings, mental health challenges, space to think, space to feel. Decisions to make, work to find, friends to create, people to support and a brain to take care of along the way.

So here I am making the commitment to show up for myself everyday. To get up, get outside, do exercise, feed and water myself, commit to my work, reconnect with what matters most.

I’m not one for pushing myself through anything that will cause me pain but I am here to drag myself to do the things I need to feel more joy and stability more often.

So here’s to the final 3 months of 2026. by @brinnydoes

“Fellow travellers.”

TLDR: we went on an epic cycle, full of joy and wonder. And that’s exactly what my grandma did when she was younger. Feeling that connection to her is so special.

A longer read:
My partner and I went on the most amazing cycle a few days ago in Gran Canaria! It was incredible! Once in a lifetime kind of ride. We laughed, we nearly cried and we knew how special it was.

The day after, Jod drew me a little sketch. It was the same sketch they’d seen a few weeks before in a (large) collection of letters my grandma had written for a particular friend. The original doodle was from when she had cycled around Devon, and it featured two other people. One of those people was Joy.

Joy was a very special person to my grandma, and their love was so much more than friendship. They wrote letters, poems and stories to each other, and stayed connected for decades. Today, I see this without doubt as a beautiful love story between the two. Especially as I’d had such positive conversations about my queerness with my grandma.

If you flick through, you’ll see the photos and words capturing my grandma’s memory of this ride from 81 years ago, when she was 19.

It makes me so happy she got to adventure with her special people.

And she’s still inspiring me to keep finding the joy in adventure and each other. Even when it’s hard to get out of the door.

Grateful to @oddjodjones for scribbling my grandma’s scribble again for me. by @brinnydoes

AUGUST: mostly offline; getting into cold water, finding my exercise rhythm again, remembering my grandma who would have been 100, bird watching, roller hockey and getting a second hand car with a dvd player in 😆

Plus lots of wonderful times delivering workshops for @calm, teaching @queerstrengthclub and producing an epic ad in such a beautiful part of Wales ⛰️ by @brinnydoes

Not many people know this, but I had a career in TV and radio before becoming a PT, coach and consultant.

From 17, I worked in media - radio, news, music journalism. Working at the BBC, 6 Music, The Guardian.

On paper, it looked like a dream career.

But inside, I was burning out.

Read the slides for more.

What I’ve been reflecting on most isn’t just the career itself, but the environments we exist in, and how rarely they’re built for different ways of thinking, working and existing.

And how often we think that mismatch is a personal problem, rather than a support one.

That’s a big part of why I do this work now - helping people figure out what support actually works for them, whether in the gym, at work, or in life, and tailoring my approach to the person in front of me rather than expecting everyone to work in the same way.

If my story resonates with you - please know you’re not the problem.

Both my 121 coaching and workplace consultancy help you build systems that work better for YOU and don’t burn you out. Links in the bio to work with me! by @brinnydoes

Gorgeous class in Macclesfield this weekend for the queers! 💪

So lovely to see people coming back for our 3rd session! And so exciting to meet new people through the door. 🩵✨

The most rewarding part of these sessions is seeing the smiles on peoples faces after! Coming to an exercise class can feel scary! We get that.

So we do our very best to create a welcoming environment where you can have fun and find joy in building strength with community by your side 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

We also launched our merch this week! Huge thanks to those who bought some! More details soon.

Next Macc class 5th Sept - tickets now available!
Brighton 28th Sept - sold out 🥳🥳

Where else shall we come do a pop up? by @brinnydoes

Last weekend was so joyful! Thanks to everyone who came to our 4th QSC in Macclesfield. 💪🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

We had lots of fun making movement silly, feeling strong and connected and celebrating Dolly with some two stepping! 💖

It was extra special having a good pal and QSC OG join from Brighton too! ☺️ and take them to the infamous @yasssbean ☕️

As we head into Autumn we’ve got plans to trial doing more classes and some group training PT so watch this space! And if you’re interested in that drop us a message too.

Big love 🥳 by @brinnydoes

Years after leaving production, this summer I found myself back on set. 🎥

For a long time, I think I’d told myself that was a world I couldn’t go back to.

I stopped working in media full time after burning out, and for years production became tangled up in my head with a way of working that just wasn’t sustainable for me.

But this summer, I went back.

And I loved it.

Not because everything about production has magically changed - but because I have.

I understand myself, my capacity and what I need to work well in a way I simply didn’t back then.

And going back also helped me notice something I hadn’t quite seen before.

On paper, producing a commercial shoot, facilitating a workplace session and coaching someone in a gym look like completely different jobs.

But I seem to be doing the same thing wherever I go.

I solve problems.

I bring people together.

I think about how things could be done differently.

And I create the conditions for brilliant people to feel comfortable, feel seen and do brilliant things.

Sometimes that’s on a film set.

Sometimes it’s in a workplace.

Sometimes it’s in a gym.

The setting changes. The intention doesn’t.

Returning to production hasn’t felt like going backwards.

It’s actually helped me understand what connects everything I’ve built since leaving it.

Exploring better ways to do stuff.

To work. To move. To belong.

Turns out I didn’t need to leave that part of myself behind.

I just needed to find my way back to it differently.

QSC MERCH IS HERE 🏳️‍🌈💪

As modelled by @BrinnyDoes and their dad - proving QSC merch truly is for everyone 😂

You don’t need to train with us to wear it. It’s for QSC members, friends, family, proud allies and anyone who believes LGBTQIA+ people deserve spaces where we can move, grow stronger and feel comfortable being exactly who we are.

Available to pre-order now:

🧢 QSC caps with embroidered logo
👕 QSC 100% cotton T-shirts

All designed by our very own @oddjodjones

We’re starting with caps and tees - with muscle tees, hoodies and other QSC bits coming soon 👀

You’ll find the order form, prices and our gender-neutral size guide at the Merch Pre-orders link in our bio.

QSC is a small community project run by the two of us, so every order genuinely helps us keep building it.

Wear it proudly. Support queer community. Look really good doing it. 🌈 ✨ by @brinnydoes
