POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

In the spirit of Prince, we are revising the title of our Halloween show! The artist formerly knows as (“insert a Golden Girls Halloween pun”) will now simply be known as Broadminded Women Over 40 Revue’s Halloween Variety Show. Why? Because a fab drag queen from NYC reached out to say they own the trademark to that Golden Girls Halloween pun.

No matter! We love the drag queens of the world and don’t want to step on our sister’s rhinestoned platform heels. And under ANY title, women over 40 will rock. So did you get your tix yet for the spookiest, sparkliest, most inspiring Halloween show of the season?

@helenpontani
@dari_blythe

🚨THE DETROIT RECAP HAS ARRIVED!

It took us a minute to sort through all the incredible footage. Hey, when women over 40 take over a stage, there’s a LOT of magic to capture! 😍 And there’s more to come; we will be posting more clips of individual acts soon!

This was the show society didn’t want you to see — women over 40 commanding the stage with comedy, circus, dance, music, burlesque, and decades of hard-earned brilliance.

To everyone who packed the house: THANK YOU. To everyone who thought, “I’ll catch the next one...” 👀 Make sure you do!

Because we have already talked to another venue *owned by women over 40* (can we literally do it ALL? Yes!) — and if all goes well, we’ll be back before you know it.

Watch the recap. Then imagine being in the room. Stay tuned! 💖

Thank you to all the creative, resilient, powerhouse women in our April show:

⭐️Hooper/producer @karirevolva
⭐️Skaters @treze.baby and @brightone826
⭐️Tapping tornado @helenpontani
⭐️Pole artist @shellyelle19
⭐️Burlesque/bellydance @mzorbit
⭐️Bellydance @leelabellydance

⭐️Bollywood Nandita Bajaj & Komiko Elfner
⭐️Fan Burlesque @lilylarueburlyq
⭐️Music @detroitgrace & @audrakubat
⭐️Comedy @fluffiheather
⭐️Co-emcee @katepherself

🤩 And endless gratitude to our women-over-40 crew: Stage manager Megan Buckley-Ball, and crew @raenardecchia @doxiedetroit @honeyloveburlesque Vanessa Rauguth — and our token man-over-50 and tech and music bat boy @revofroar

🙏🏼 Also thank you to amazing woman-over-40 performer @dari_blythe for loaning us a pole and to @aerial_dragonfly for practice space for our traveling pole act. And mega thanks to @bucharest_grill for feeding us during our tech run through. Support businesses that back women in this era of our lives! 😍 This was truly a community effort, and we are so grateful for everyone who came together to make it happen.

Throwback to our last production — as we get excited to welcome back the HILARIOUS Heather Kyles to our Friday, Oct. 30 Halloween show at @threecatsrestaurant in Clawson, MI.

What does comedy have to do with Halloween? Well, you may laugh so hard during the set by @fluffiheather that you scare yourself. 👻 Heather is a Detroit Public Schools teacher when she is not on stage (shout out to our teachers!), and she also stars in “The Agency” on Tubi.

Come see a hometown comedian who is frighteningly funny, join us for dinner, and even dress in your Halloween best for our costume contest! 🎃 It will be a night out to remember.

If you are not a woman over 40, should you come see Broadminded? YES! Because our shows ROCK! 🎸 Just ask Detroit circus sensation Brandin Alexander @guapoh13 — who saw our producer @karirevolva perform in Madison, Wisconsin last year and was convinced to grab a ticket to see our entire spring show lineup of women over 40.

Brandin is 33 years old and an internationally celebrated performance artist himself, and — well, you can listen to him talk about his reaction to our advanced queens 🔥 (Spoiler alert: He is now an official fan of Team Broadminded!)

Our Oct. 30 Halloween show at @threecatsrestaurant in Clawson, MI is right around the corner. Did you get your tickets yet to the most inspiring night of the season? 🎟️ Ticket link in bio @broadmindedshow or visit ThreeCatsCafe.com/events

Lauren Crane is rocking stages — and the world — at the fabulous age of 69. Grab a ticket to our Oct. 30 Halloween show at @threecatsrestaurant in Clawson, MI (wear your most outrageous costume if you like), and come fall under her storytelling spell.

Lauren delivers often preposterous, sporadically serious, ever curious entertainment through songs that can be described as saucy, sexy, sardonic or any number of alliterative adjectives that one with too much time on her/his/they hands could care to string together.

Society says women are invisible past a certain age. To that, our coven of queens says, “See you on stage!” Ticket link in bio at @broadmindedshow or visit, ThreeCatsCafe.com/Events

You will not BELIEVE the Halloween magic in store for us from @lusheslamoan — who has been called Detroit’s “hardest working showgirl.”

A true Motown OG, Lushes started her performance career as a cast member for local sketch comedy show, Switch Play TV. She incorporates her improv knowledge and background as a comedian into her stage persona, making her not only graceful but quick on her toes.

Also a fine artist who designs her own costumes, she really went over the top with the act she is bringing to our Halloween show at Three Cats on Friday, Oct. 30. Did you get your reservations yet for THE party of the season, with a delicious dinner and a post-show crowd costume contest?

And come see Dari and other incredible 40+ performers prove that women only get MORE powerful with time.
