our floor plan.
It all began with a story told by Galina @_kolchina_ who had just moved into a new space with her artistic partner and composer, Liam @liamgordon__.
With an empty room and a fantastic storefront overlooking the hustling and bustling in front of Markthalle 9.

With Liam’s music and a narrative about Max Rödel @max_roedel and Lisa Tiemann @tisaliemann , two artists whose studio is located in the rear building. And with the knowledge that numerous design and art enthusiasts would be in Berlin in September.

This gave rise to the vision of bringing these elements together to create an installation-like moment: a space between the visible and the fleeting, between inside and outside, between matter, sound, and imagination.
A space in which one moves through color, material, light, and shadow.

The result was Zwischentöne – a temporary installation at the intersection of design, art, and architecture – brought together through an atmospheric soundscape. by @buendel_space

A temporary installation by Clara Twele @clara_twl and Galina Kolchina @_kolchina_ at the intersection of design, art and architecture, brought together through an atmospheric soundscape.
Zwischenräume moves between the visible and the fleeting, between inside and outside, between matter, sound and imagination. The installation understands space not as a fixed state, but as something that shifts with the gaze, the light and one’s movement through it.

Lehni x Art
@lehni_furniture has been linked to the world of architecture and art from the very beginning. Through its collaboration with artists such as Max Bill, Sol LeWitt, and Donald Judd, Lehni established itself as a rare intersection between art, functional design and conceptual rigor.
In addition to its traditional collection of aluminium furniture, Lehni is the exclusive worldwide manufacturer of Donald Judd’s metal furniture collection.
A collection of 15 pieces of furniture made of powder-coated aluminium, copper or brass, which Judd himself designed for Lehni in 1984 on the initiative of Doris Lehni Quarella, photographer and wife of Rudolf Lehni.

back story: Lehni is a Swiss furniture manufacturer with its own production facilities in Switzerland.
The company was founded in 1922 near the Kunsthaus Zürich as a metal workshop. Lehni grew from a small craftsmanship business into one of Switzerland’s most culturally significant design manufacturers and is still run today as a family business by Antonio Monaci and his wife, Benedetta Agostini.
The long-standing collaboration with Andreas Christen shaped much of the company’s visual language, while partnerships with artists such as Max Bill, Sol LeWitt and Donald Judd established Lehni as a rare intersection of functional design and conceptual rigor. Function, quality and formal beauty are at the core of its philosophy.
