What a day. Thank you so much for all the lovely messages, emails and social media posts. Thank you so much to those people who nominated me. It’s a privilege to receive an award like this, especially considering all the amazing work I see all my radiography colleagues doing around the country day in and day out. I probably don’t deserve it any more than any of them. Thank you to the @scormembers for this honour. What an incredible few days at #ARTTICON2026 🇮🇳

One of the things that has struck me most has been the people. The passion, commitment and genuine motivation to support and develop RTTs has been incredible.

The profession in India is evolving, moving from thinking of RTT’s as technologists towards the much broader role of therapists, with greater responsibility for patients, their care and their experience.

The conference has been a brilliant reminder of just how much education, training and support goes into that evolution. There were questions in the student quiz that I had absolutely no idea about! 😂

RTTs are also working within healthcare hierarchies that have existed for generations, alongside doctors, physicists and nurses. This makes the work of ARTTI, and events like this, so important in creating a stronger professional voice, sharing knowledge and supporting the next generation of RTTs.

A huge thank you to the organising committee and the ESTRO RTT Committee for inviting me and for the most incredible hospitality. I’ve felt so welcomed.

It was also fantastic to see Naman back home, speaking Hindi, sharing his knowledge and experience and, most importantly, his love of food! 😂❤️

And an extra special part of this trip has been having Lee here with me and giving him an insight into the incredibly busy schedules we have when we travel for conferences. It is definitely not a jolly! 😂

Although… we now have a week of holiday ahead and I couldn’t be more excited. 🇮🇳❤️

Today was a very special recording day for Rad Chat 🎙️💙

we headed to the beautiful Somerset House in London to record a new episode for the Breast Cancer Now Podcast and what a conversation it was! Very strange being on the other side!

We were lucky enough to be interviewed by the fantastic @laurapricewrites who has hosted the Breast Cancer Now Podcast since 2024. Laura lives with metastatic breast cancer and brings both personal experience and a brilliant curiosity to the conversation. As well as a podcast host she is a food writer and the author of the novel Single Bald Female.

So, what did we talk about?

Well… quite a lot! 😂

Radiotherapy, what it actually is, how it works, what treatment involves, side effects, what to expect when you attend appointments, radiotherapy for primary versus secondary breast cancer, health inequalities and plenty more.

We also got into some of the questions and concerns that people living with breast cancer may have when radiotherapy becomes part of their treatment.

It was a long one… so good luck to Steve and the multimedia team with the editing! 😂🎧
