On Tue 1 Sep from 18:00 we will be hosting a workshop + screening of ‘Un Dessert pour Constance’ by filmmaker Sarah Maldoror on at BFI Southbank, followed by a discussion with season curator Annouchka De Andrade.

★

Maldoror once said, ‘I’m shrouded in black, in mystery’, and in this workshop we ask, what does it mean to be brought to light? What lenses can paint us in all the hues of our lived experiences? This creative workshop considers how colour grading and scripted narratives affect our reading of Black emotion, place and representation in front of the lens.

‘Colouring the Lens’ will be a drawing session on colour grading led by artist Lauren-Loïs. ‘Writing the lens’ will be a free-writing session led by poet Binta. The workshop will be one hour long and split in two parts.

Please sign up via the link in our bios to rsvp for the evening, we hope to see you there !

Many thanks to the BFI for the invitation to engage with Maldoror’s work alongside Annouchka De Andrade. taken in BFI Southbank by @bybintayade
