POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Last month we were invited to share a creative response to ‘Un Dessert pour Constance’ by filmmaker Sarah Maldoror at BFI Southbank.

Here’s a round up of the evening, and a special thank you to everyone who joined us, shared words, sketches + laughter to celebrate Maldoror’s contribution to Black storytelling.

Thanks to the team at the BFI for the invite, to Annouchka + Henda for your presence throughout + to Maia Ardalla for letting us dream up something special with our program ++ Koice for capturing all the moments so beautifully

I remember little Binta! Warmest, happiest smile, straight talker, negotiating deals and managing to get us to sign contracts since she first started to write! I think we may have all signed our lives away at some stage!!! 😂

But mostly I remember Binta’s kind heart, her heart for family, her loyal, fierce, heart for justice was always there! Oh and her little laugh! Out for fun, always curious, always questioning, rebellious, jumping on the bed laugh!

Happiest of Birthdays Bin! Always proud of you @bybintayade - keep jumping on the bed and breaking the rules xx

Hear what Binta had to say about our rehearsals! Thank you so much for joining us 🫀

Binta Yade is a trustee at @poeticunity, the charity that ran the Galdem, Let’s Talk programme in collaboration with @therunnergirlproject. The programme provides space for Black women ages 18-30 for reflection and poetry discussing experiences of Black womanhood. It was great to have Binta see how the programme has directly impacted our work in rehearsals.
