When we first met— about a week and 3 years ago— we came across an art installation in a public park. There was a marble slab with an engraving on it that read: “If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear as it is, infinite” (William Blake). This quote signaled the beginning of a crazy journey for us two. As we got to know each other and fell in love there were so many moments that required us to open up our perception to something larger, something unknown, and to trust in this world we were building together.

In these 3 years something we have learned is the power of saying “yes”. To each other and the universe as we are shown where to go next— even if it feels totally impractical and crazy. Even if it feels impossible!!! We always figure it out together. So, in this spirit, we are doing another huge trust fall & moving to Amsterdam in July <3

Excited, curious, fearful, TEARFUL, elated... so many huge things & small things! Seattle: thank you for holding us as we have changed and opened our perspectives again & again. As we step into the infinite unknown we are very sure of one thing, home is where our people are.

A note from Cal:

LOSING SLEEP was a response to my younger self. It was the actualization of something that I knew deep down back then but wasn’t ready to face. It was standing up there with some of the best people I have ever met & letting myself know that everything is okay, I am safe. Creating dance from what needs to be let go, being present with all of the feelings in real-time—captured in a night or over the course of 2.5 years— & walking away willingly and intentionally. This is the reason I am simultaneously in love with & wrecked by this art form. It is ephemeral. As are we. As are all of the little moments of life that slip past us, that we cling onto. Thank you to everyone who has watched this work over the lifetime of Eleven:Eleven; if there was ever a time you watched us & thought that maybe the work was for you, it was. I love you. Truly. Thank you for letting me create & bearing witness.

Callan is a powerhouse. She's one-of-a-kind. I've had the privilege of dancing for her company @1111danceco (that has a showcase coming up on April 25). She has such a specific and unique vision for her work; it's a gift to embody her movement. But, more importantly, she is the gentlest and kindest friend. She cares deeply for the people around her and allows them to be their full selves in her presence. It was such a thrill to be able to see the movement in my head come to life on such a brilliant mover. Thanks, Cal! by @calatopia

Eleven:Eleven X CAL ᯓ★

I dreamed about this collective when I was a teenager & again in college. There was always this underlying unknowing of when it would come to fruition, or if it ever would at all. In a lot of ways this group of people feels incredibly miraculous and happenstance and in so many others it feels like the manifestation from years of dreaming. Being an artist is really vulnerable; I am often filled with imposter syndrome. I question my choices again and again and stay awake at night wondering if I am good enough. Then I get into the studio with my friends & I am reminded over and over and over that this is exactly where I am meant to be.

July was SO FUN. More o that pls 🤲🏻

- pride shenanigans w/my 2 favorite humans
- me & Liv’s new paddle board obsession
- me & Liv’s prevailing obsession with our sons
- consistently over-committing w/grocery hauls v. walking
- she thought the espresso martini was pretty but I thought she was prettier
- cutie hiker girly
- Liv & I exploring new cities through AMAZING wine recs from locals
- getting my shit rocked by Liv the Situation on Flathead Lake doing the Zippy Livi™️
- finally actualizing a trip to Glacier with Liv after 2 years of talking about it!!! I just love exploring the world with her.

eleven:eleven X Seattle Pride 2025 🫂

There was a time when I felt trapped by a narrative that was being told for me. Back then, I wrote a lot about where I would be after all of that. I thought that one day I would feel brave enough in myself to share my story on my own terms. Dancing at Pride last weekend, with these people, on Main Stage, I had an overwhelming feeling that I had made it to the place I wrote about when I was younger

I couldn’t have done it without @dances_with_nat— a true friend & the best co-choreographer, I am so lucky to stand in their light ⚡️ & to my dancers: thank you for holding the message of this piece with so much reverence; you are 11:11 & a dream come true

@seattlepridefest @seattlepride I can’t even say how much it meant to dance on such an iconic stage. I’ve been witness to so many incredible artists performing on Main Stage & being one of them this year was an honor. Thank you for creating such an uplifting, safe, and creative place to share

@afterspacemusic for curating the soundtrack to my story 🌀 collaborating with you was a dream
