Before we show you the three beautiful bedrooms at Campo Sasso, let’s step outside for a moment...
One of the things our guests love most is having plenty of outdoor spaces to enjoy throughout the day.
Start your morning with breakfast on the terrace just outside the kitchen, listening to birdsong and taking in the peaceful Tuscan countryside. Later, settle in with a glass of wine or an aperitivo as the sun begins to set over the hills.
And for those moments when complete relaxation is required? Slip into the hot tub, soak in the views, and let Tuscany do the rest.
At Campo Sasso, life is lived both indoors and out — slow mornings, long conversations, starry nights, and plenty of space to simply enjoy being here.

🍇 Harvest morning at Campo Sasso!
Pierre, Julian & Oliver (with Frisbee supervising, of course 🐾) were up early to harvest the grapes from our little vineyard of just 500 vines.
But this isn’t quite a conventional vineyard. Our vines grow agroforestry-style, woven between olive trees and fruit trees, sharing the land rather than taking it over.
Everything is done on a tiny, hands-on scale: grapes picked by hand in the cool of the early morning, brought straight in and gently pressed in the basket press.
And then? The wine begins its slow transformation in perhaps the most Campo Sasso place imaginable… our cheese cellar. 🧀🍷
From 500 vines, a family, a dog, a basket press and a cellar full of cheese.

It doesn’t get much more homemade than this!

È tempo di fichi a Campo Sasso! 💚
Il nostro fico gigante in questi giorni è pieno zeppo di frutti, e non c’è niente di meglio di un fico appena raccolto, dolce e maturo, insieme a un bel pezzo di formaggio. 🧀
Dolce + salato. Morbido + stagionato. Una di quelle combinazioni semplicissime che funzionano sempre.
E quando i fichi crescono a pochi metri dalla cantina dei formaggi… beh, sarebbe quasi un peccato non approfittarne. 😋
Pierre sembra essere d’accordo.

There’s something magical about summer evenings in Chianti…

A table filled with all the things we love: a beautiful chilled white, bruschette, local salumi and Pecorini, sweet melon with prosciutto, and an amazing zucchini flower flan…

One of my favourite parts of the Fabulous Tuscany tour happens right here at Campo Sasso. 🍷🧀
Before our guests arrive, I’m setting the tasting table, polishing the glasses, and making one last trip into our cheese ageing cave.

Today’s selection: 🧀 Creamy Taleggio 🌿 Our aromatic herb-crusted Pecorino 💙 Sasso Forte, our award-winning blue cheese, aged here at Campo Sasso

Then Daniel, one of our wonderful Grape Guides, arrives with the group, and the real fun begins.
Together we explore the property, wandering through our agroforestry vineyard, olive groves and cheese ageing cave, where dozens of wheels quietly mature under perfect conditions.

Finally, we gather around the table for my favourite moment of all: the tasting.
Daniel leads everyone through the wines while I introduce each cheese, sharing its story, how it’s made, and what makes it unique.
Then comes the fun part—discovering how different combinations of wine and cheese can completely transform the flavours of both.

It’s never just a tasting. It’s a conversation about craftsmanship, tradition, and the simple joy of sharing great food and wine around the same table.

And seeing our guests leave with a whole new appreciation for both? That’s the best part of the day. ❤️

A little vineyard check at Campo Sasso.
Our little vineyard is grown using an agroforestry approach, where the vines share the landscape with olive trees, fruit trees and plenty of biodiversity. Rather than creating a monoculture, we believe a vineyard should be part of a living ecosystem, with every plant and animal playing its own role.
And, of course, no vineyard inspection would be complete without Cosimo II 🐓—our resident Black Rooster, who spends his days proudly roaming the rows as if he owns the place (to be fair... he probably does!)

One thing we will tell you: these are all white grape varieties. Which ones? That’s staying our little secret... for now. 😉

🍷 A Little Piece of Campo Sasso’s History…

Some moments in winemaking feel less like work and more like a privilege.

This week, Pierre carefully racked a Vin Santo that has been quietly maturing for well over 10 years in three tiny wooden barrels tucked away at Campo Sasso.

These weren’t our barrels. They were left behind by the previous owner of the farmhouse—a beautiful reminder that every place has a story, and sometimes you become the next guardian of it.

Opening the barrels felt a little like opening a time capsule. Years of slow evaporation, patient ageing, and the gentle influence of the wood had transformed the wine into something incredibly concentrated, complex, and full of character.

Sometimes the greatest treasures aren’t the ones you create yourself… they’re the ones you’re trusted to preserve. ❤️🍇

🍕🔥 What better way to begin your Tuscan holiday than with a pizza-making class?

Our guests recently chose to kick off their stay at Campo Sasso with a welcome pizza class led by our super-talented pizza chef, Juan from Chianti.

And judging by the smiles (and the empty plates!), it was a huge success.

From stretching dough and choosing toppings to learning a few insider secrets of authentic Italian pizza, everyone got hands-on and discovered that making great pizza is equal parts technique, patience, and fun.

Of course, the best part came at the end: gathering around the table to enjoy the fruits of their labor with a glass of wine and views of the Tuscan countryside.

A perfect first evening at Campo Sasso, where good food, good company, and unforgettable memories come together. 🍷🍕
