Time for a re-intro 💕

I’m Jenn. First gen daughter of immigrant parents from Guatemala 🇬🇹 learning to decolonize womb work, deconstruct my beliefs, remember the power of my lineage ✊🏽 and embracing the gifts of womb curanderismo.

I struggled with infertility and chronic infections for 7+ years. In that time I did a lot of soul searching and as a lover of learning, I went back to school for integrative medicine. I’ll spare you the resume and details, but you can read about that on my website if you’re curious.

I primarily work with humans with uterus’ but occasionally work with folks without them. I believe this work is full spectrum and all bodies need to feel supported regardless of gender and pronouns. All bodies are welcome in my office in San Antonio TX💕

Part of the work I do is energy work- it’s part of how I show up in the world and a gift I get to share with my clients in session.
Currently leaning more into teaching about this work and mentoring folks who want to tap into their gifts. It’s something I wish I had growing up as a healer and intuitive.

I’m a boy mom, dog mom, and plant lover.
I have an online shop, I work with cacao, I make my own products and learning to remember to rest (I’m a Capricorn 😬)

What you’ll find on my page:
1. All things about the Womb + belly
2. Traditional medicines
3. Def some political content bc we are (especially marginalized groups) impacted by it.
4. Community Care + local resources
5. Spiritual /dreams/energy content
6. Random memes that make me giggle.
7. Probably some memes in Spanglish 🙃

Curious about working with me? Let’s schedule a free 15 min call.

I get these questions often so here is a breakdown.

Please note: this is an estimated amount of sessions. Everyone is different and may require more or less depending on their body and personal IVF cycle needs.

Sobada de matriz.

I remember telling my parents I was stepping into this work. I grew up as a church kid. I remember being 12-13 yrs old and having dreams and visions and feeling really scared about talking about it to anyone, especially in church. I went to a private Christian college and I recall having insane experiences that were called “spiritual warfare.”
I didn’t understand why I could see and feel certain things and why I just had a sense of knowing.

When I told my parents about this work, I was scared. When they celebrated it I was surprised. When I told them about my dreams and visions they accepted it.

You have no idea how many times I get asked how I reconcile this work with growing up evangelical. It’s interesting to have these conversations and not be triggered. Instead, I hold the conversations with kindness and with care because I know what it’s like to be afraid of spiritual gifts.

The sobada de matriz, is not a massage. Sobada de matriz is medicine for the whole person. When we separate it from its roots, it will be just a “massage” because that’s how our minds can comprehend it. We minimize the medicine to fit into the world.

However, the medicine is bigger and it’s interconnected. To break it apart, and only choose the parts you like or that make you feel comfortable, is to distrust it. by @ceiba_wellness

Putting a vibe check out into the world 🌎

If I hosted a free quarterly wisdom sharing circle via zoom, would you join?

This could be for other healers, people interested in learning more from others, resource exchange, etc.

Initially I thought about a local circle in San Antonio, but then I felt called to expand it out to others.

The wisdom circle would be women’s health focused.
Topics we would discuss:

Womb health
Fertility
Postpartum
Pelvic health and aging
And more…

I may have a guest speaker join once in a while.
This circle would be FREE and via zoom.

Would you join? Let@me know in the comments by @ceiba_wellness

Fertility is not easy.

It took me 7 long years. I learned a lot from this journey.
A few things that helped me:

🌈TCM!! Trust me on this one.
🌈 Nourishing your blood with warming foods, foods that build blood.
🌈Get your hormones checked pls!!
🌈Blood flow! This is where this work shines!

Not just focusing on egg quality but also my uterus and the health of my period.

There’s so much we can learn about a period. Focus on the health of the soil so the seeds can flourish. by @ceiba_wellness

As things change with the supply chain, how can you support yourself with your health and postpartum?

We laugh at our mothers for using Vicks as a remedy but the original source was camphor and eucalyptus. If that’s not available we need to use the next best thing.

When there’s no corn meal, we find corn starch because it’s cheap and easy to source and suddenly we have a postpartum beverage to warm the belly.

Don’t have access to plants for a pelvic steam? What’s in your pantry? Look at the teas you have, what plants are in your yard?

Get acquainted with your local library, the plants you see on your walks, get to know your neighbors, can you barter if needed?

Prepare now so you know what you have and how to use it. by @ceiba_wellness

I birthed large babies and healing was 😩🫠

Let’s talk about the pubic bone and how to support it postpartum.

Things I did to help me heal symphysis pubis dysfunction (SPD):

1. Observe the cuarentena
2. Wear a faja (postpartum hip swaddling)
3. Nourish my body with warm and nutrient dense foods (think soups, meat)
4. Chiropractic work was beyond helpful for me.
5. Pelvic floor exercises to help stabilize and strengthen my body.
6. Keeping the feet warm

The fertility journey can be hard and heartbreaking.
Feeling joy and jealousy when you hear your friend is pregnant.
Losing a pregnancy and being in what seems like an endless cycle of IVF meds or appointments to figure out why your body isn’t conceiving.

I share this because no one talks about the feelings that come up. This is a huge part of the journey and we often feel shame for feeling sad or jealous that your friend is pregnant but you are not.

Let’s just name the elephant in the room because we all know it’s there.

While everyone’s journey is different, it’s helpful to know there are ways we can reconnect back to our body, clear the energy and help us through that grief journey.

1. Connect with cacao. Cacao is a heart opener and amazing medicine to help us process our feelings.

2. Bone closing ceremony. This is a powerful ceremony that can help us come back into the body and tend to the parts of our hearts that need tending.

3. Creating your own ceremony at home: light a candle, do a burial, write a letter to baby, do a spiritual bath, the list goes on.

Let’s stop pretending that it doesn’t hurt. Tend to your heart. Give your body the opportunity to grieve.

What are your own grief rituals? by @ceiba_wellness

Tune in.

Hand on heart, hand on belly.
Feel the rise and fall of your breath.
Closing your eyes.
Unclench your jaw.

Time slows down.
Body is earth.
Breath is air.
Tears are rivers.

Tune in. by @ceiba_wellness
