Newbie Ceramadelics light pod. Looking forward to seeing it glow!

I thought I'd try to get back to sharing what I've been hiding away creating. I now have one of the reminders of why I stopped. I posted this to my @mudventions account & clicked the share button for it to cross post to this account. Should be simple & doable, right? Well for some unknown reason that didn't work. So here's me redoing it.

I haven't had the energy or bandwidth to keep up with all the constant changes & features on this platform these past few years. It feels like every time I try to get back into a flow of moving forward I get thwarted with some FU issue...or just disappointed with the whole game of it...along with more time & energy lost.

Hopefully some lil nice tech fairy will save me from a deep dive into the why it's not working. And I'll find the drive to not give up on actually sharing again. I know it's a small potatoes issue...but I got a mountain of small potatoes I'm trying to manage..with some big lonker ones mixed in.

Not sure what kind of stars aligned for this to happen today but it sure seems pretty cosmically fitting...to FINALLY sell this lil Shooting Star Pod on 4/20 for 420! Definitely a long overdue spark my soul needed 🎇 still kinda shocked as it's been since before Helene I've sold a Ceramadelics light piece.

Coincidentally I did not have my open sign out at my studio shop...and I just finished putting star dots on a new piece...which I had been patiently waiting for a week for my slip to be right consistency to do...sooo!?! (And tbh it hasn't mattered much at all to have Open sign out since Helene as the only traffic on the road is locals & dump trucks & repair workers and really most people don't see signs anyways, lol. )

And for the added bonus to push me out of my fox hole.... I had told myself I was going to actually start sharing my work again today. But as usual I was going to let the distractions of the day and some kinda excuse not to, again....

But the stars aligned... It sold to a 82 yr old glass artist who had tried clay...so he saw the beauty & challenge of illuminated ceramics. I currently have 4 new light sculptures in the works presently....more than I've made in one year these past few years.

AND... this photo of it ...is a photo of a photo lol! My only photos of it are so old I can't reasonably/sanely get to them at this point to post. We've made some good memories with it, glad it's found a home....I soooo needed it's lil spark to light me up!

It's a happening soon & I'll be on it! We're all looking forward to having visitors up here in the WNC mountains. Hope you can make it! We've definitely got some scenic changes to the tour but our artistic spirits are alive & doing all the creating we're known for. I'm in my same Mudventions shop in the Shops at Celo.

As hard as it was to say good bye to the other maker of me I'm glad my Dad is finally with my Mom & they're both together again flying high above this earthly realm. You always know the day will come but there's no relatable experience for the unsettling finality of not having your parents on the planet. Feeling into all the gratitude of all that was with them & my family has been the best comfort for my soul. I know he's resting in peace with his love of 65 years.

I'm super thankful I had 52 years with him & had the ability to spend his last night & day with him. I'm thankful he got to spend the last few months in my brother's home. I'm thankful he passed with my sister who shared his Birthday by his side. And even though it was somewhat unexpected I suddenly knew it was his time & for the best. I'm thankful my mom guided him thru the veil & he had the courage to willingly accept his exit without long drawn out suffering. He said he saw her quietly waiting. Both of their passings were eerily coincidentally similar which made me aware of how much 65 years together creates a union of your souls even in death, separated by 1&1/2 years.They also both brought tornadoes to Knoxville, my mom after her funeral service & my Dad with just a warning after he passed, hmmm? I told him to give us a sign when he was back with my Mom & a rainbow popped out the day after he passed.

I will never quite comprehend how my Dad managed to turn his only child upbringing into creating such a huge family for himself ~ 7 kids, 14 grandkids & 13 great grandkids. He somehow always kept going in a mostly calm way, steadily worked at his chemical engineering job, kept us all fed & educated, took us camping & fishing, was extremely active & devoted to his Catholic faith, Purdue alumni & many other activities. I'm sure his goofy sense of humor played a part in his demeanor, lol. And yes my Mom definitely kept him in line too!

I'm sure he's enjoying a beer with my Mom by his side catching all the fish he's ever wished for while watching all the Purdue games he can! It's been hard to find the energy to share this but I know it's another part of acceptance, just like making his urn is. by @ceramadelics

Dearest Thanks UuuS to all who came to the Solstice celebration of light ❤️‍🔥I really loved sharing my undersea cosmic cave with youse! Glad we could celebrate brighter days, compassionate connection stories & enjoy some fantastically fun dancing together after all we've been thru here...and still will be for awhile. It's a must do again for sure...🎆💃💖

And yeah, totally guilty of not capturing the moment till I was all alone in my lil cave after the festivities basking in the glow of barely pulling it off, lol.

This ornament is one of a few of my River Arts District flood survivors at Art Garden AVL that was thankfully recovered. Some survivors have already gone to other fundraisers. I've been participating in the weekly river cleanups here experiencing the vast amount of damage to our once pristine MTN valley. It's overwhelming to comprehend the twisted & scoured river banks...And all the bits & pieces of people's lives & businesses caught in tangled webs of debris. It's just one lil section of water here of so many in WNC needing cleanup. The section here is the headwaters of the South Toe. It's always brought me healing & peace...and now I'm doing my best to restore those gifts in whatever ways I can.
