Day 4 of the most lovely road trip was super sweet and easy. 🤎

We ventured back to Zion for one more day at the park. Our first stop was Checkerboard Mesa, one of Zion’s most recognizable formations. The sandstone has these cool crisscrossing patterns carved into the rock, created over time by erosion and weathering. Nature really does love to show off. 🏜️✨

We enjoyed our drive, our walks, our rests, our meditations, and our photo shoots. There was something so beautiful about not needing to rush any of it and just being present and letting the day unfold.

I spent this day much like I spent my first day, simply in awe and wander. I sat and marveled at God’s great creation: the rocks, the sand, the river, the big horn sheep that came down to graze, the deer attempting to cross the road, and the trees growing out of the mountains from the tiniest patches of dirt - I mentioned to Tasha on Day 1 that I could appreciate their commitment to grow.

Our meditation, the change of season, the new moon, and this land all felt like right time, right place, right moment.

Before we headed back to shower, pack up, and say goodbye to our sweet little cabin, we went for the most beautiful mountain-side horseback ride. 🐎🤎 We rode with Pizza and Beaufort, taking in the mountains from a completely different perspective. It was peaceful, grounding, and such a sweet little adventure.

It’s funny how quickly things can change. On our first day, I watched Tasha say goodbye to our first cabin. 👀 And on Day 4, we said goodbye to our sweet little resting place for our time in Utah.

And just like that, we literally drove off into the sunset, back to Nevada for our flight home. 🌅

Day 3 of this epic road trip brought us back to Zion. 🏜️

Twinning because we’re gay girls… gay as in happy 😏😌 and SOUND ON for the shenanigans and because you want to hear the sound of the river.

We took in so many sights on our early morning drive + hike, soaking up every bit of those towering red walls before heading back after lunch for The Narrows.

And when I say the Narrows… I mean narrow. Carved over time by the Virgin River, this incredible canyon stretches for miles, with walls rising up to 1-2k feet around/above us. We spent the afternoon literally walking through the river, surrounded by the cool water and all the other beauties of mother nature 💚

Then came the ride home.

A ‘full moon using the landscape as her stage,’ Tasha said. Us, completely euphoric, feeling that maybe the universe was putting on a special show just for us . 🌕✨I’ll post later about this new moon energy.

But what I will say, for Taurus (which we are), a new moon is often associate with planting seeds, grounding into what you actually value, and beginning a new chapter from a place of intention. 🌑♉️

Which all felt pretty on point. New places. New perspective. New energy. New chapter. Hello, next chapter. 🤎✨

Day 2 — The most amazing road trip🏜️❤️started EARLY when I whispered to Tasha, “Are you awake?” She groaned. I asked, “Do you want to go watch the sunrise?” ☀️ She said yes, so we hopped up, got moving, and finally made it — Zion National Park.

No time for pics on the way, we went straight to Canyon Overlook Trail, known for its incredible panoramic views of Zion Canyon. The early morning light made it even more spectacular!

We left Zion, ran into sweet buffalo 🦬
We then said goodbye to our little mirror cabin, grabbed breakfast, and headed toward Bryce Canyon through Dixie National Forest and the Red Canyon area. The Scenic Byway 12 did not disappoint! Every turn brought another jaw-dropping view. (Tasha has most of those pictures 📸)

At Bryce Canyon, we took the Navajo Loop, hiking from the top all the way down and then back up. 😅 Those switchbacks definitely hit differently on the way back 👀

We ended our Bryce adventure at Bryce Point, taking in the incredible amphitheater. Nature is pretty amazing! 🧡🏜️

Before it got dark we headed to our sweet cabin for the rest of our stay — The Star Gazer ✨. We settled in, picked up pizza 🍕, and enjoyed the sunset.

Day 1 of one of the most lovely road trips. 🏜️✨
Southern Arizona was way overdue. Friends, she was beautiful and did NOT disappoint. ❤️

Our first two stops have been on my list since 2022, after I saw them in Country Living — and they were every bit as magical as I imagined.

First up: Horseshoe Bend. 💙 The Colorado River carved this incredible 270° bend into the sandstone over millions of years, creating the horseshoe-shaped masterpiece we get to see today. It’s roughly 1,000 feet deep, which honestly doesn’t even seem real when you’re standing there looking at it.

Then came Antelope Canyon, where we were guided through by a member of the Navajo Nation. ❤️ This stunning slot canyon was shaped by water and wind over time, and its Navajo name, Tse’bighanilini, means “the place where water runs through rocks.” The canyon has long held cultural and spiritual significance for the Navajo people… it held spiritual significance for me as well 🙏🏾 🤍just grateful

Two bucket-list places in one day… not too shabby. 🥹

And to make the best Day 1 even better, we ended the night in the cutest little Mirror Cabin. by @chanlittle360

I have a client who just turned 50 😊💕🎉👏 she’s finding herself the healthiest she’s been in a long time! It’s not the almost 30lb weight loss this year, it’s the all of the healthy habits she’s discovered… it’s the need/desire to workout regularly, the change in diet, the change in alcohol consumption - it’s really the change in mindset. I’m really proud and inspired by her.

I have a client who is stoked to not only raise her hands abover her head but the ability to press weight as well when pt hadn’t worked.

2 of my favorite clients are in their 80’s - they inspire me every time I see them!

I want to say the clients I handle the most sensitively are my teenage girls because of what the world tries to tell them pertaining to how their bodies should look (break the stigma) but my reality it is my male clients have also been t/sold the same lie.

We workout for health, strength and the ability to survive the Zombie Apocalypse. My biggest motivation is knowing my movement, strength, commitment inspires others - we inspire each other. Crawling out of bed on my sleep in morning, to go workout because my accountability partners are waiting. 💓💪🏾🙌🏾

Literally looking on the bright side. There was a moment today where I sat and enjoyed the blue sky. It later turned gray and a bad storm came. It passed and that same blue sky seemed brighter after 🙏🏾🤍

Those bright moments
Stayed encouraging myself,
Being loved by my people ❤️🙏🏾
Trusting the journey.
Believing,
It doesn’t happen to me, it happens for me.

Toodles August.
Hello soft September.

A recent study confirmed what I’ve always believed. People usually question me when I say the Turkish Get-up is my favorite exercise because getting up from the floor without hands is not an easy feat and attempting to do so identifies your weaknesses.

The Sitting-Rising Test is a particularly strong predictor of lifespan because it measures not just aerobic fitness but also muscle power, strength, flexibility, balance and body composition — all in one move

How to do it:
✔️ Sit on the floor and stand back up using as little support as possible.

Scoring (out of 10):
• Start with 5 points for sitting + 5 for standing.
• Lose 1 point each time you use a hand, knee, elbow, or other support.
• Lose 0.5 points for any loss of balance.

The 5 levels I demonstrated:
🔹 Level 1: One tucked leg to squat using a hand – 8 points
🔹 Level 2: One tucked leg to knee, then lunge to stand – 8 points
🔹 Level 3: Z-sit to knees, then lunge or squat to stand – 6 points
🔹 Level 4: One leg tucked, opposite leg straight to standing – 10 points
🔹 Level 5: Seated with both legs straight to standing – 10 points

Research suggests that people with the highest scores had better long-term health and longevity, with a significantly lower risk of cardiovascular disease and death over the following decade.

What level are you?

I do not like when people to ask ‘how are you?’ I’ve felt like they can imagine how I am doing.
I’ve learned most really can’t.

1 in 4 Americans grow up without a father. That number more than doubles for the African American community. The reality is a lot of people I know either didn’t grow up with a father in the home and if they did, they still have him. Both of those things give me a lot of feels. Really everything gives me all of the feels lately.

Grief is a hard, personal experience. Thankful for my practice. Thankful for my family. Thankful for my community. Thankful for those who don’t ask how I am doing but just give hugs.

Thankful for the gift of having had a good father and though his physical body has left us his presence remains 🤍

Happy Father’s day to every dad, Step dad, bonus father, and all the men that fill in that very special role.

*celebrated 3 days early because national cemeteries are closed on weekends and holidays 😕*

‘You have to go through to get through.’ When I heard that it kinda made sense. I understood the message they were trying to convey – I had to go through the hard things to get to the other side. Avoidance and delay would only keep me where I was.

April was the hardest month of my life and May wasn’t  much better. I struggle to post or not to post, to keep it superficial or be real. Honestly my life is mostly great. I don’t have much to complain or be sad about generally. I consider myself privileged that I am an “inherently happy” person. How do people live carrying so much sadness and grief? It doesn’t feel sustainable – the way I’ve been living isn’t sustainable. I had to face that fact head on Saturday when I almost passed out for the first time after a race. I’m thankful my friend Catherine was there to literally hold me up.
Faking it to you make it might work for a couple of days but not weeks, definitely not months. I’ve tried everything except for “feeling what I am feeling” because I am tired of feeling sad.

So instead of becoming an MMA fighter, a calisthenics warrior, getting more piercings… I’ve elected to feeling the sadness of losing my father, accepting that my heart is going to hurt for a very long time. There is no changing avoiding this fact. So I am trying to learn how to live(well) in it.

I will take time to celebrate the bright spots, happy and held moments and in the same way the love and laughter flows I’ll allow the tears and sadness to do the same.

Here’s my brightlight post from May. Thank you and love to each of you that hold me up. May the love you give out return to you in abundance.

My first birthday without my father - I feel like I’ll have a lot more of these: birthdays without my dad and ‘firsts’ without him.

It still doesn’t seem like my real life most of the time - like I’m just here. When I am quiet, when I am still I can feel him here with me. Today I pulled out some old birthday cards and read one from him. (Fun fact: if you gave me a card, with loving words, I most likely still have it.)

When I read the words, ‘Love Your Father’ I was reminded of his voicemails that always began - ‘Chan, this is your father…’

I read words from him. I spent time in my little garden checking on the baby eggplant, cucumber, tomatoes, snap peas, okra, kale, and chard. Currently the garden is a war zone - it’s me and my sprouts vs the squirrels who keep digging things up. I thought about the advice he would provide about it. I miss him.

Today was a good day. I have an amazing community that wraps their arms around me and holds me up and in my sadness brings me joy. Thank you for all of the love and birthday wishes. by @chanlittle360
