8 months and sometimes I still feel like I haven’t waken up from this nightmare. I’ve learned to move throughout the day, almost like it never happened. But ohhh the nighttime. When the noise of the busy day grows silent, that’s when it hits me the hardest. Sometimes I can feel the pain in my chest, like the very morning my heart was shattered, and I have to remind myself to breathe. “Just breathe Aneika.” Because every breath you take means you’re one breath closer to meeting your baby.
