What advice would you leave with the next generation of artists?

“Insecurity is the biggest waste of energy and time.”

Instead of worrying about what others think, or what might happen, take risks. Be yourself. Stay curious. Be present.

Because curiosity opens the door to connection: with others, with your art, and ultimately, with yourself. It gives you the freedom to discover something new.

So take the risk. Try. Explore. Make mistakes. Find your own voice.
And remember: you don’t have to have it all figured out. It’s fine. It’s all good. 💛

What does it actually mean to help a flutist sound their best?

For Adam Workman, President & Founder of Flutistry, it means being part of the artist’s **pit crew**.

The instrument matters. How it responds matters. How it sounds in the hall matters.

But so does how the artist *feels* when they play it.

That’s the idea behind Flutistry: bringing **flute + artistry** together and using every resource available to help musicians understand their instruments, feel confident in their sound, and focus on what matters most, making extraordinary music.

I looked better than I felt.

This photo was taken in 2024, when I was one of the leanest—and most visibly shredded—I had ever been.

Photographically, it looked impressive.

But I did not feel particularly good.

That experience reminded me that appearance and wellbeing are connected, but they are not the same thing. A body can look disciplined, healthy, and “optimized” from the outside while the person living inside it feels something very different.

Today, I care less about becoming the leanest possible version of myself and more about building a body that feels strong, energized, clear, and sustainable.

Sometimes the healthiest version of you is not the version with the sharpest abs. (Even though that can be fun lol)

Yoga practice may happen on the mat, cushion, or in the studio…

But it’s truest expression is how we live once we step off the mat & into life.

Yoga has shaped not only how I move, but how I lead, serve, create, and show up for myself and those around me.

Postures (or asanas) are part of the practice.

Character and inner transformation is the deeper practice & experience.

Questions I often ask myself: am I making my younger self proud of who I am now?

Am I allowing my inner child to play and shine through every day?

How would 5 year old me respond to meeting 31 year old me?

One of my favorite parts of weekends like this isn’t just the event itself—it’s the conversations, the new friendships, and the chance to reconnect with people who care deeply about making a difference.

A special thank you to @gordonpit25 for inviting me to be part of such a memorable day. It was a pleasure connecting with Illinois Secretary of State @alexiforus and meeting so many inspiring people throughout the parade.

Days like these are a reminder that lasting communities are built through genuine relationships.

Here’s to stronger communities.
