The American Birkebeiner is North America’s largest ski race and this year featured record-breaking, fast conditions. While these conditions didn’t suit me going into the race, I believed in myself and my fitness. I’m proud of myself for leading much of the race, trying to push the pace, and going with the move when the move was made. 5th wasn’t what I dreamt of but I controlled the controllables and that’s all you can really do at the end of the day. A HUGE shoutout to @theskihut for supporting me this ski season and EVERY season, @pioneermidwest for race day wax service, and Nicholas Flynn for being my biggest fan. Thank you to all those that reached out and watched the livestream, I feel so much love from my local community 🥰 Apparently if you don’t race super tours, you’re a “mystery woman from the Midwest” 😆 I only race locally because I can’t get that much PTO from work. And with that, a nod to all the people that work full-time and still toe the line with the professionals to see what’s possible. Onto the next!

Two weekends. Two wins. Grateful, fired up, and loving every moment 🫶 I love this sport and the people that I share it with. THANK YOU to @theskihut and @fischernordic for supporting me! A special shout out to my high school coach, Dave Kask for making some extra speedy boards yesterday at Ski de She, giving me the confidence to go off the front and solo 30k, 5k in. Fun to take a chance on myself and have it pay off!

Haig Glacier 2025 🗻
Hiked, ran, skied, and crawled in the Canadian Rockies for a week with a great crew. We didn’t have the best snow but that didn’t stop us from getting after it. Thanks @mattliebsch for organizing; looking forward to next year!

By the #’s:
26.31 miles hiked
34.35 miles ran
85.12 miles skied
For a total of 24,577 feet of elevation and 31 hours and 7 mins of training.

Birkie 2025
What a season! I may not have had the day I wanted today but I’m proud of myself for pivoting and getting the most out of myself regardless. While skiing with the lead pack, I fell around mile 9 of 30 on Heckler’s Hill (a fast downhill) and pushed hard to make contact with the lead pack again only to get shoved off the back when they made a push up the climb to OO. I wasn’t recovered yet and was nervous about pushing myself too hard this early in the race since I also lost my bottle with nutrition during my fall. @caitlin.braithwaite was thankfully in the perfect spot after the OO bridge and handed me another bottle. I felt confident enough to push hard again knowing I had nutrition to rely on and tried to ski strong and smooth the second half of the course which is mostly rolling flats with lots of transitions (perfect terrain to ski really fast when you’re in a pack but not so much alone). Regardless, I let go of both my A and B goals and focused on my C goal, skiing to top 10 and finishing on empty. I enjoyed the quiet and skiing by myself as I’m not use to fighting for space while in a pack. My body felt great and my skis were rippin' thanks to Matt Liebsch and his amazing crew at @pioneermidwest. I’ve never felt so taken care of! I skied on @salomon skis from Andre Watt for the first time and I’m a huge fan. The new @salomon water bottle holder is also perfect for feeding while racing. Thank you to @caitlincgregg for taking me under her wing and sharing her many years of knowledge and experience with me leading up to the Birkie, I look forward to many more years of racing together and repping the Midwest 🥳 Thank you to Nick, my brother Branden, and my stepdad @gregminerich for being my biggest support always, and all my friends too. I feel very proud to represent Duluth, Minnesota and throw down for the people working full-time while still pursuing their athletic goals and I felt all that love today 🥰 Until 2026, Birkie ✌🏻

Chicago Marathon ‘24 was a party of PR’s, good food, and great friends. Happy to come away with a personal best of 2:51:25. The people of Chicago brought the energy and the hype was unreal the entire race. Loved hearing my name so many times on course and very grateful to spend the weekend with some of my favorite people 😘 taken in Chicago, Illinois by @chels.93

Life lately. Celebrated the new year in Cozumel, started a new job as an RN on the cardiac unit at St. Luke’s, and moved outdoors as much as I could ❤️ by @chels.93

Dang. December has been BUSY. I ran a marathon in Cali followed by some wine tasting, graduated with my BSN, and turned 30.

Looking forward to seeing what I can do in the ski scene this season but first I’ll be drinking margs on the beach while soaking up some vitamin D in Cozumel ☀️

My best friend asked me to marry him on Sunday 🥰

When I met Nick, I was at an all time low navigating the loss of my mom. He stood by me while I built myself back up and makes me feel brave enough to chase my goals.

69 miles with almost 5,000 feet of climbing on single track, pavement, snowmobile trail, and forest service road made for a tough and muddy day on the bike. Nick has always said I should race the boys and today I tried 😆

4th overall in the 69er and first female. Thank you to @theskihut for a really fast bike up for the challenge 🤗

Boston Marathon Debut - 2:54:18

Takeaways:
While a 5 week build is doable, it’s tight 😬

It’s okay to feel like absolute trash during the taper, your body is repairing itself 💪🏻

You will not feel good the entire time while running a marathon, when you’re feeling bad, know it will pass

Hilly courses play to my advantage

While running a world major takes time and dedication, it’s a privilege

I love the process just as much as the race itself 🥳

Ski de She 2023 🥈 Spent the day ski racing with fast women, catching up with familiar faces and meeting new ones, and feeling overjoyed to jump back into the ski community after a long break. Side note: Nick was the MOST supportive man out there- warming up with me, hurrying me to the start line to get a good position 😆, taking pictures and offering feeds during the race, and wrapping me in my parka right after I crossed the finish line ❤️ He might get more amped than I do when I race 😊 taken in Cable, Wisconsin by @chels.93
