Fam, I’m gonna hold your hand when I say this:

It’s not about having a niche.

It’s about documenting what God is doing right here, right now.

Ad Christian creatives, we get the privilege, not just make content but to build an archive. We get to scribe how God is showing up at this time in history.

We are called to tell of His goodness, not just by word-of-mouth, but by showcasing it in a creative fashion for all to see.

It’s Matthew 5:16, but in social form.
So grab your light & just scribe. 📝

In a world that constantly tells us to compete, I’ve learned that some of the best work happens when talented people choose to create together.

Every photographer, videographer, designer, creative director, and storyteller I’ve had the opportunity to work alongside has brought a different perspective to the table.

Different eyes. Different experiences. Different strengths. And because of that, the final product has always been stronger than anything one of us could’ve created alone.

The creative industry doesn’t need more gatekeeping..it needs more open doors, shared opportunities, and people who are willing to say, “Come build this with me.”

You gotta stop chasing what God is removing.

We pray, “God, order my steps”…until His order includes an exit we didn’t ask for. 🚪…🚶🏽‍♀️

A relationship ends. A door closes. An opportunity disappears.
Something that once felt right suddenly does NOT fit anymore.

Our first instinct can be to chase it.

But what if the loss isn’t punishment? What if God is making room?

Think about a rainbow. 🌈 You can’t experience one with sunshine alone. For a moment, the clouds have to roll in. The rain has to fall. The sun has to disappear from view.

Not because the sun stopped existing…but because the conditions are changing.

Perhaps that’s where you are right now. 🤔

Just because you can’t see what God is doing doesn’t mean He stopped working. And you don’t have to keep running after what He allowed to leave just because you haven’t seen what comes next yet.

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” Ecclesiastes 3:1

Some seasons are for bringing in. Some are for releasing.

So let it rain! Let God prune as things change.

The rainbow comes AFTER the rain. 🌈

Don’t get so busy chasing yesterday’s sunshine that you miss the promise God is revealing next.

Yes, I tried to put my workout glove on the wrong hand. No, we will not be cutting that out. 😭

One thing I’ve learned about being neurodivergent is that constantly trying to appear “normal” is EXHAUSTING.

And I REFUSE to make social media another place where I have to mask.

My brain is gonna brain.
I’m going to forget stuff.
Mix things up.
Go on a tangent.
Laugh at myself. 🤣
Get REALLY excited about something random.
And occasionally need a few extra business days to figure out why the glove isn’t gloving. 🫠

But that’s me.

Social media became a much safer space for me when I stopped trying to create a version of Chelsea that was more polished, more palatable or easier for people to understand.

Psalm 139:14 reminds us that we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.”

That includes the parts of you that don’t always fit neatly into everybody else’s definition of “normal.”

So if you meet me offline, there’s no character reveal. What you see here is what you get there.

This is your reminder to be yourself ALWAYS.

The people God intends your story to reach don’t need the carefully manufactured version of you.

They need YOU.

When in doubt, order wings. 🍗

Spent yesterday afternoon with some peeps at @rvawingwars!
Over a dozen chefs offered up their poultry masterpieces in every form imaginable.

We ate, drank and channeled our inner food critic deciding who would earn the trophy. 🏆

To point to the artsy that is Richmond, they had screen printing. Can’t wait to show off my new tote at work! 👜

Needless to say I left full of belly and spirit for fun events in my own back yard.

A HUGE congrats to the winners and to the organizers for another SOLD OUT year! 🍗

Just because it’s HARD doesn’t mean you’re not supposed to do it. 😮‍💨

Sometimes we pray for God to make things easier when He’s saying, “I’m going to make you stronger.”

Obedience can be hard.
Starting over can be hard.
Setting boundaries can be hard.
Learning something new can be hard.
Doing the thing God called you to do while you’re STILL nervous about it? Mannnnnn. HARD.

But difficult ≠ impossible.

Philippians 4:13 says, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

That verse isn’t a promise that everything will suddenly become easy. It’s a reminder that when God calls us into something that stretches us, we don’t have to rely solely on our own strength to get through it.

So DO THE HARD THING.

Do it nervous, imperfectly…do it one tiny step at a time.

And when your strength starts looking a little suspicious? 😂 Lean into His.

Sometimes growth looks less like a dramatic breakthrough & more like catching yourself mid-reaction. 😮‍💨🐟

You know that moment…

You’re about to respond the way you ALWAYS respond.
Assume the worst…Get defensive.
Overthink it into a multi-part documentary series. 🤭

then the Holy Spirit taps you on the shoulder like, “Now fam…we’ve talked about this.”

That pause matters so much!

Why? You cannot surrender a pattern you refuse to recognize.

Romans 12:2 reminds us to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind.” And sometimes that transformation happens one tiny interruption at a time. That’s when God helps us recognize an old thought, habit or reaction and choose something different.

Self-awareness isn’t the destination. It’s an invitation to ask:

“God, now that You’ve shown me this…what do You want to change?”

Growth isn’t always out loud. Sometimes it’s simply realizing:

Oh. I don’t have to respond like the old me anymore. 🥲

And THAT changes things.
