October 30th, we’re 2 weeks away as Pulse returns for our first ever Halloween edition with a massive two room experience.

The main room serves as our sonic anchor: six uninterrupted hours of high caliber techno powered by Colombia’s Adriana Lopez and Spain’s Luis Miranda. Both headliners deliver extended 3 hour proper techno sets, steering the floor through hypnotic tension, raw textures, and peak time momentum.

Room two belongs to local Portland selectors driving high energy sonic selections all night long with raw Halloween intensity with one main goal. To keep the dancefloor moving.

COSTUMES ARE REQUIRED 🚨🚨🚨Your stamina is required.

We’re so stoked to have @chixy_guap bringing the summertime energy with this month’s mix! 🍊

While she set out to make something sexy (and it is), somewhere along the way it turned into a mix that goes just as hard as she does in the middle of June. Heavy bass, world drums, dub, with plenty of beach-friendly vibes and a few unhinged transitions, true to her style.

As she put it “you never know what time of day or night you might find yourself rolling around in the sand 😈”

When asked about what feminine energy means to her, she said, “We contain multitudes, right? People associate femininity with the exclusively sultry side of things, and sure, that’s there, but there are so many ways the feminine manifests in art and music. Sometimes it means going hard AF in the paint” - we couldn’t have said it any better.

We’re so grateful to have @chixy_guap as part of the Womb Tang community. Give this one a listen 🌺

introducing @lune.radio ~ my bimonthly radio show on @xrayfm that showcases femme/nonbinary bass producers from around the world 💖 next episode airs tomorrow, Friday 9.18 at 5pm PST.

as someone who has been in various music scenes for nearly two decades as a fan/listener/festival worker/volunteer/dj and eventually producer myself, I started noticing how sparse festival lineups were when it comes to women many years ago ~ and how comparatively rare femme producers are.

femme and nonbinary creators don’t get the same kind of exposure to mentorship and collaboration that many of the boys do (sorry guys)- we don’t live in the same shared houses, don’t get the same “big ups, you should check out/book my boy”, the same free lessons and encouragement, etc.

with @lune.radio , I wanted to give props and credit where it’s due, and show that we are here, talented AF and deserving of the same opportunities as everyone else 💖

hope u will tune in and add some femme frequencies to your arsenal at 91.1 or 107.1FM in Portland or online worldwide at XRAY.fm ✨ taken in Portland, Oregon by @chixy_guap

it’s been years (maybe never…?) since I took a two week full-on vacay where I had no obligations to do ANYTHING besides be myself and have fun. we get so wrapped up in our day to day duties, identities, and all that jazz - it’s easy to forget who we are aside from all that. i set an intention for my trip to show up as I am, and it was such a sweet joy to keep remembering how much I like myself and my own company - even hungover as balls in some hostel pod coffin in London. is that a radical thing to say, “I like myself” ? feels like it sometimes.

my first time in the UK was mostly filled with steps, wine, mezcal???, overpriced food, vintage, new people, and a healthy dose of bass music that I’d been craving like water during a hike. it was epic AF to be on the ground where some of my favorite genres were pioneered, and to learn more about the history and be around the pioneers themselves ✨

the 1985 day party in Bristol was way too fun and I kept asking people “so this is like, your backyard?” 😇 feeling so inspired and affirmed. shoutout everyone who showed me kindness and a good time.
