Introducing CHIXY GUAP @chixy_guap

CHIXY GUAP is a dj, producer, and radio host from Portland, OR who channels her sound from the trapical bassverse, navigating worldwide low-end genres from UK bass, grime and dub to baile funk, ratchet hip hop, global club and more.

Always on the hunt for fresh sounds and deep digs, she fuses many different voices and flavors with an intuitive sense for the floor. Chixy’s sets are percussive, heavy, spicy, and always suited to the occasion.

Catch CHIXY GUAP next Friday for our Halloween event! Tickets are available in our bio.

Portland! Loud and Lit was such a fun success, huge thanks to everybody who came, partied, danced and volunteered! The corkers were a well oiled machine, and our trash pickup crew was great, we left all our places spotless.

This event is entirely open source, we have no official budget and we exist by everybody showing up and wanting to make it happen however they can help. I love that spirit and it really shows in the vibes of the party.

We want to give an extra big shout out to @infralabz who brought the massive Funktion One sound system, it sounded so good!! Their venmo is @henryfoxaudio some donations to help cover their genny and transpo costs would be very appreciated.

The DJs are a collection of all star Portlanders, go check out their pages and go to their events, they are all so awesome.

At the end spot we had
@endymienne
@dj_cat_wolf
@__.naraly.__ and the @highstepsociety brass
@chixy_guap
@chaachnyc
@swayla_cat

Loud and Lit is happening as planned.

Rain is scheduled to stop before we leave.

Our end spot is covered, don't ask where come on ride or figure it out, I believe in you.

We have an absolutely bonkers setup and lineup for the end so act like a Portlander and tough out this weather, you won't regret it.

We’re so stoked to have @chixy_guap bringing the summertime energy with this month’s mix! 🍊

While she set out to make something sexy (and it is), somewhere along the way it turned into a mix that goes just as hard as she does in the middle of June. Heavy bass, world drums, dub, with plenty of beach-friendly vibes and a few unhinged transitions, true to her style.

As she put it “you never know what time of day or night you might find yourself rolling around in the sand 😈”

When asked about what feminine energy means to her, she said, “We contain multitudes, right? People associate femininity with the exclusively sultry side of things, and sure, that’s there, but there are so many ways the feminine manifests in art and music. Sometimes it means going hard AF in the paint” - we couldn’t have said it any better.

We’re so grateful to have @chixy_guap as part of the Womb Tang community. Give this one a listen 🌺

Loud and Lit is happening rain or shine tomorrow (Saturday night)!!!

Portland's largest underground bike ride and street party now going on almost 20 years of being absolutely wild, crazy fun, all night dance party. Anchored in the original ethos of zoobomb, We are 100% open source party, leave no trace, do it better and watch out for each other. This year's end spot has the absolute wildest DJ lineup. Like better then any official club lineup in town. So get ready to dance, get loud and get lit!!

This is our city and we love it! We have contingency plans for the bad weather if it does happen, but right now updated forecasts say the skies will get nice and dry right about when we're leaving and stay good the rest of the night.

Ride meets at Irving Park at 8:00 p.m. and we leave at 9:00.

Don't ask where the end spot is just come on the ride.

Make sure to follow your ride leaders Jon Dutch and Brian Sysfail, as well as officially marked support team.

And one more time just so everybody really gets it, this ride and party can only exist and be sustainable because we watch out for each other, and we take care of the spaces we occupy. Consent is always mandatory and that goes for EVERYTHING. We want to see no trash left behind, If you brought it you can bring it home, in fact you can probably bring home some extra. So we leave no trace In fact we aim to leave our areas better than what we found it.
