Frosh Camp at Nacome: Camp & Retreat Center — or, in better terms, the place that changed my life. 🤍

To Frosh Camp 🤍 Since 2023, Frosh Camp has held such a special piece of my heart. What started as a camp quickly became so much more than that. It became a place where I found some of my favorite people, made memories I will carry with me forever, and discovered a version of myself I didn’t even know existed. Frosh has given me something to look forward to during the hardest times and surrounded me with people who made even the longest days worth it. Some of the most important moments of my college experience have happened at Nacome, and I will forever be grateful for that.
How incredibly blessed am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard? To have a place that feels like home, people who feel like family, and memories that I know I’ll talk about for the rest of my life. I genuinely cannot imagine spending my summers or my time anywhere else. Frosh Camp has changed the way I love, lead, serve, and show up for the people around me. A piece of my heart will always belong at Frosh Camp!!

To Exec 🤍 The second I got the email that we would be serving together, I had a feeling you guys were going to change my life for the better, I just didn’t realize how much y’all would!! From the very beginning, you made everything feel a little lighter and a whole lot more fun. From our late-night conversations and endless inside jokes to the countless hours spent planning, stressing, laughing, and figuring things out together, I genuinely wouldn’t change a single thing.
There were definitely moments where we were tired, overwhelmed, or had no idea what we were doing, but somehow we always made it through together. We genuinely went through hell and back and we made it out together!! You became so much more than the people I served with, you became my family and my friends I know I can always count on. If I could choose a team to serve with for the rest of my life, I would choose you guys every single time. It was hard to put into words how deeply Frosh means to me but I tried!
When I signed up to be a first-year Frosh Camp counselor, I thought I was going there to give my time, my energy, and my love for this school. But what I didn’t realize was that I’d be leaving with more than I could have ever imagined.
This camp taught me that life is about showing up, not just when it’s easy, but on the hard days too. It’s about loving people exactly where they are and creating a space where everyone feels they belong. And that’s exactly what Frosh Camp did for me. It showed up for me on my best days and my toughest days and loved me no matter what.
I’ve never laughed harder, connected deeper, or made more unforgettable memories than I have here at camp.
To my campers, you reminded me to treasure the little things in life. You showed me more love, joy, and hope than I ever thought possible. You reminded me that life is worth living fully, and I will never forget that.
To my fellow counselors, you became my family. I am endlessly thankful for each and every one of you and the heart you brought to this team. Serving alongside you has been one of the greatest honors of my life.
And lastly to Frosh Camp, thank you for not just changing the lives of our students, but for changing mine too. I will forever be in debt to this program. You have shaped me, inspired me, and filled my life with love and purpose that I will carry forever. Nothing can compare to my experience at Frosh Camp!
