Dad flew back to Queens on Monday morning (7/1), the day of the Awards/Closing Party.

He’s set to return for the 4 performance extension later this month. He better… since we paid him to 💸

Being awarded an extension is an unexpected gift because it gives him and I more time. I don’t know how much is left…he’s turning 80 this month (July 21st will be his bday performance!)

Time with my Dad has been/ continues to be a complicated, meaningful mess. I’m eager that the other half of my award winning (Solo-ish? Two person?🤷🏻‍♂️) show will return soon…hopefully… you never know with him 😅

Celebrating the next step, I’m sharing a new poster (again😬)

Co-edited by my co-producer @mayh.see (with tons of support from many others I nagged for feedback).

Excited and nervous for having a bit more time to unpack new things with Dad…📦👴🏼⏱️🙋🏻‍♂️📦

❤️. #wow @outsideinthtr Apoyemos a nuestros artistas 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽✨ Felicidades @christopherfromqueens by @christopherfromqueens

Some places stay with you, even when you move. 🏙️❤️

For Christopher, Queens is one of them. Now, he’s bringing a little of that world to Highland Park in BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE.

A street. A train. The place that always knew your order. What still feels like home to you?

From the ashes rise seven new plays! Stay tuned for readings in Winter 2027.

Responding to the tragic fires that engulfed Los Angeles in 2025 and the heroic response from many communities, AMMO asked the playwrights in its community to share stories inspired by the mythos of the Phoenix rising from the ashes both literally and metaphorically. Seven extraordinary artists responded with unique ideas which are now in development through AMMO’s New Play Lab.

The selected plays include an untitled play by Sam Chanse, Regina by Bernardo Cubría, Chicken by Derya Derman, What Would Nina Do? (WWND) by A’raelle Flynn-Bolden, Psyche by Tyree Marshall, Before It’s Too Late by Christopher Moncayo-Torres, and KOY by Carl(os) Roa-Cruz.

Thank you so much to everyone who came out to our first Fail Better Story Time in our new home @outsideinthtr. We couldn’t be happier to be partnering with them and introducing our Fail Better community to this new LA theatre!

A special shout out to our storytellers @shaedayy @ssarahvargass @shoelessreycordova and our open mics for the night @daniiiiii21 and @adrianbird! It’s not easy to get on stage and share true stories about your life. We were honored to host you, and thank you to everyone in the audience who showed up and offered supportive feedback.

Our next Fail Better Story Time is Thursday, November 5 at 7 pm @outsideinthtr! Use the link in our bio to purchase tickets.

Can’t make it? No problem, we’ll be back every first Thursday of the month. Same place, same time. Doors at 7 pm. Start at 7:30 pm. Until then, don’t forget to keep trying, and fail better. by @christopherfromqueens
