Happy Indigenous Peoples Day! 💜💜⚡️🪶🪶

I will never stop teaching my girls who they are, where they come from, who their ancestors are and the history of their lineage.
.
I was told not too long ago, I shouldn’t be teaching my kids Indigenous culture because they weren’t Native. I was told they are Hispanic and African American and I should stick to teaching them that.
.
I told this person, yes they are those as well. And because they are all of those I will teach them and connect them to as much of all of them that I possibly can.
.
Just because they aren’t growing up on the Rez or because they are mixed, doesn’t make them any less Native.
.
I ended the conversation with, “I will NEVER stop teaching my girls who they are, where they came from, who their ancestors are and the history of their lineage. ✊🏽🪶⚡️

What a day 💜

What a day of movement, medicine, and community at our Youth Field Day! 🌟⚡️

From sack races to the Granny Pants Toss, our youth and their school staff showed up running, laughing, and cheering each other on from start to finish.

A huge thank you to our community elder Perci Ami for joining us as our guest speaker and reminding us all that movement, connection, and community can carry us through hard times. 🙏

And none of this happens without the people behind the scenes, our incredible volunteers who ran stations, kept score, and made sure every team felt seen. Thank you for giving your time and your heart to our youth.

I really enjoyed supporting @allthrive365 at their annual community breakfast and spending time with my sisters who are all making a difference in their own ways. I got to see my daughter in her element and meet a couple of her coworkers. We listened to two families who shared heartwarming stories of the help they received and the message of creating a ripple was a good reminder that the smallest good deeds can make a lasting impact. It was a good morning!
