I probably don’t deserve to be in this position, barely produced statistically in college, couldn’t get into a pro day, had to take all the splinters out my a## from riding pine, and just get to work every single day. Extra workouts, extra sprints, late nights, early mornings, catching extra passes, running extra hills, dissecting playbooks, reps upon reps upon reps in the gym, trying to eat cleaner every year, getting the mind stronger but Gods grace has led me to exactly where I need to be and allowed me to produce exactly when I needed to most. I can name probably about 50 teammates between two programs in my career that were more athletic, stronger, faster, bigger, could run faster, jump higher, run better routes, win in man, run the concept better etc. But throughout 16 years of playing this sport, I couldn’t name one person that wanted it more than me!! That lived and breathed the process every damn day, regardless of the good and bad, regardless of the results, just worked continuously. Thank you to all my teammates, friends, family, training partners, trainers, & coaches that have pushed me to even be able to receive this blessing. No matter what happens, hopefully not a single person can say I didn’t work, didn’t sacrifice, and didn’t earn everything given to me. To all the kids out there that stumble across this, friends that are unhappy & struggling, those that don’t have a sense of direction, or whoever sees this… follow your heart, follow your dream, follow what you love to do, and the rest will fall into place. Regardless if you accomplish your goals or not at least then you know you tried & went down swinging. Be a good person, treat others with respect and kindness, and that’s all we can ask for in this day and age. You can’t measure Heart! GodBless & Let’s Go.💚#JKA by @cillian_davis

Sturgy.GFX’s Most Underrated Player: Cillian Davis.

Davis was able to contribute as a rookie in hi-motion in the slot, as well as at the stationary position on the outside. He was very efficient in the intermediate and quick passing game, and wins a ton of underneath and double move routes. He contributed at corner and nickel as well, where he had pass break ups in the hook to curl, open field tackles defending the hi motion, and played and effected all areas of special teams.

Today is a special one.

Coach Cillian officially signed his professional contract with the AFL’s Odesa Drillers—and this moment means more than just football.

For years, he got overlooked. Was told that it was time to move on. That the dream wasn’t realistic.

Instead of listening, he worked. He showed up early and stayed late. Kept betting on himself when others didn’t.
