First 100K mood board as documented by @mimidaut 📸. I could not have done this without her love and support. As always, huge shoutout to @t.ignatowski and @ephoi for their unwavering support and pushing me to have fun, and all the bakeries for the copious amount of baked goods 🍞. There are a lot of words about yesterday circling in my mind, but I will spare you for now. If you want to grab a coffee and chat about it then, I would love to see you. Thank you to the race organizers, volunteers, fellow runners on the trail, and everyone who believes in me and adds excitement to my adventures. I am lucky to call you a friend and grateful to have you in my life. This Friday D is retiring from the bartending game and hanging up her jersey in the @asisnyc HOF. Motivation shows up in various ways and at times it is making the right call for a healthier tomorrow. I could have powered through, but knew I shouldn’t. Baby’s first DNF and possibly hairline ankle fracture? More on that soon! Despite feeling great in every other way, it was clear running an additional 31 miles on a troubled ankle, which I struggled with all season, was not the move. I appreciate @mimidaut supporting my decision, the medic who made me laugh while agreeing with me and suggested I called it, and @altomarino for making me the strongest runner I have ever been. As I rehab, I am excited for more sunrise runs, scenic long runs, more PT sessions, and seeing what the road holds next which for now is a lot of cycling. @sassquadtrailrunning thank you for being the literal best! And every runner who had kind words for me while I was trotting and limping around, you made today feel very special. Have a great race everyone! 👽 taken in Ringwood, New Jersey by @cjmoreorless

I always love the feeling after a @sassquadtrailrunning trail party! Thank you for putting together the best races, I leave with so much joy. This year I promised @mimidaut to be safe, @altomarino to be responsible, and @t.ignatowski @ephoi to have fun. We did all those things and had a blast! 12 hours on the trails allowed me to make a new friend (Calvin, kudos!!), see familiar faces, and run with my brother @kit_connolly. Being injured and undertrained, we were still able to place 6th overall which makes me so happy. Despite all the challenges, my spirit was bright, my body held together, and more importantly inner-child proud! The greatest party of the year gave me hope for what the rest of the year holds for us. 🫈 🥟 🎉 taken in Maplewood, New Jersey by @cjmoreorless

I reflected a lot on community spaces on my morning run. When I moved back to Queens years ago, I was immediately embraced as if I never left. Places like @mcguinnesssaloon became a second home. Between playing on their darts team and stopping in for an afternoon pint (or in Mimi’s case half pint), it was a place I could be myself. It is the place I take my friends before Mets games, to catch up, and simply… so they can experience the neighborhood. Cheers to all the people creating spaces that make people feel welcomed. This deserves a permanent post, Happy 30th! So many words can be said about @blindtigeralehouse, but if I had to choose one it is community. I cultivated an interest in craft beer, I gained an appreciation for conversations with a stranger who would then become a friend, I grew a respect for hospitality as a profession, I broke out of my shell. It is easy to say I developed as a professional here, but to be honest I grew as a person. I will never take for granted the countless times @thebrandonduff and B took me here, the shared conversations before @asisnyc started. I will always appreciate @ticket35 and @omgitslucas for the warm embrace they have given me since day one. We even started a darts team together further cementing how dear they are to me. AB and @thestrawberryprofile, you both showed me what it was like to work hard and create the life you want. And, Ozzy, man… when I entered the craft beer industry he was someone I respected then and still do now. All this is to say, The Blind Tiger forever! 🍻 taken in New York, New York by @cjmoreorless
