Congratulations to current outdoor sculpture artist, Clare Burnett, who has recently unveiled ‘Seedlinks, 2026.’ Commissioned by Hive Curates for Landsec ‘Seedlinks’ is located on Timber Square in London's Bankside Comprising three vibrant, hand-crafted mosaic sculptures the commission draws together different strands of Timber Square's past and present. Inspired by the forms of mahogany, pine and oak seeds, the works reflect the site's historic connections to of the timber industry and related trade routes during the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, whilst also echoing the contemporary landscaping of Timber Square. Burnett's artworks, Secret Sentinels, remain on view outdoors until 28 October. Timber, printmaking and mosaic histories come together in Seedlinks, a new permanent commission by Clare Burnett (@clareeburnett) at Timber Square 🔆🌱 Seedlinks consists of 3 handmade sculptures inspired by the seeds of timbers, mahogany, oak and pine, traded in the same location in the 18th century. They are embedded with 44,000 individually placed glass tiles in cyan, magenta and yellow - echoing the ink colours used by IPC Printworks to imprint their publications in the recently developed Print building at the same site. The sculptures’ mosaic surfaces reference the site’s layered material histories, including a Roman mosaic discovered nearby. Southwark has long been associated with entertainment and performance; the sculptures are intended to create a theatrical setting within the square, allowing visitors to interact with the works and connect with the surroundings. As you move around, the colours and surfaces shift. The works invite a physical relationship, encouraging touch and interaction 👋 The sculptures were made by the artist on site in one of the railway arches adjacent to Timber Square, just 50 m away from the spot where they now stand! 📍 Timber Square, 25 Lavington St, London SE1 0NZ Commissioned by Hive Curates in partnership with Landsec (@landsecgroup) Image: Timber Square public art Seedlinks, commissioned by Hive Curates in partnership with Landsec (@landsecgroup). This week we are showcasing the work of British artist Clare Burnett, @clareeburnett. Based between London and Berlin, Clare studied architecture, law and political science at Cambridge before turning to fine art, and is a former President of the Royal Society of Sculptors. Her work explores important contemporary issues, such as privacy and the widespread use of CCTV, climate change and consumer culture. Using materials salvaged from the street, industrial waste and clay, she creates colourful installations that transform the way we interact with everyday objects. Her work spans sculpture, textiles, painting and drawing, with many of her pieces created specifically to respond to the history and architecture of the spaces she works with. What stands out is the hands-on nature of her process: she carries out every stage of production herself. She combines metalwork, welding and technical calculations with the manual laying of thousands of tiles and meticulous finishing touches in her workshop. This summer, Clare is presenting several exhibitions and public commissions, including The Objects Are Watching at Art Seen in Nicosia and Give and Take at HS Projects in London. Her new permanent public sculpture, Seedlinks, is now installed at Timber Square SE1, alongside Secret Sentinels in Bolee, Bruton. . . 1- Secret Sentinels, 2026, Bolee, Bruton. 📸 Bolee and David Watt 2- Seedlinks, 2026, Timber Square SE1, London. Last few days! Don’t miss ‘Give and Take’, a solo exhibition by Clare Burnett which brings together, for the first time, a significant group of mosaic sculptures and paintings. Each work carries its own history and associations, while exploring the forces that drive global trade, historical ‘acquisitions’, displacement and fragmented histories. @clareeburnett @hs_projects Exhibition last day: Friday 12 June. @ 5 Howick Place SW1P 1WG Courtesy @artseen_contemporary Photography @thierry_bal #5howickplaceexhibitionprogramme #sculpture #painting #lovecurating #victorialondon by @clareeburnett
Delighted to share an image of this wonderful work @clareeburnett included in our exhibition ‘Give and Take’ at 5 Howick Place, SW1P which continues until the 12th of June. ‘No Smoke Without Fire’ (2022) has an intriguing, uncanny, almost futuristic semblance that catches the eye and furthers the imagination. A found chimney pot, covered in glass tiles, it gains new meanings and resonances, while examining consumerism and our patterns of acquisition: what we gather deliberately or on impulse, what drifts into our lives unnoticed and what we choose not to see. A Gathering, 2026 @clareeburnett clay and terra sigillata, dimensions variable ✨The Objects are Watching is the second solo exhibition in Cyprus by UK artist Clare Burnett, using clay, textile, paper pulp, plastic and found objects to trace the afterlives of Cypriot antiquities, colonial excavation, Berlin museum collections, Russian wartime displacement and the future archaeology of consumer culture. ‼️Show continues till the 29th of May DON’T MISS IT ‼️ ⚡️Visit: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 16:00-19:00 and Saturday 11:00-13:00 or by appointment #clareburnett #artseengallery #contemporaryart by @clareeburnett
🏳️Lines in the Sand I - IX, 2026 @clareeburnett linen, each 90 x 60 cm ‼️LAST WEEK: Show continues till the 29th of May ⚡️Visit: Monday, Wednesday and Friday 16:00-19:00 and Saturday 11:00-13:00 “Inside the exhibition a sea of flags in shades of blue, green, pink and yellow from the series “Lines in the Sand” (2026) greet the visitor. This is the first time the artist uses fabric as she seeks to explore new materials and techniques that can best convey an idea. Each flag is divided in two, a reminder of the physical and mental divisions and borders that surround us. Clare’s flags however, with their subtle hues and abstract shapes derived from ancient pottery, are welcoming, rather than alienating. They aim to be reconciliatory and inclusive, in celebration of coming together and an antidote to the proliferation of the symbols of conflicting nationalisms in our communities that are inscribed in the collective conscience.” Extract from Pavlina Paraskevaidou beutiful text @archimede_staffolini_arts #clareburnett #artseencontemporary #mariastathi #contemporaryart #cyprus by @clareeburnett
Special thanks to everyone who joined us last night for the in conversation between @clareeburnett and @sophielachowsky on the occasion of Burnett’s exhibition ‘Give and Take’. Contextualising Burnett’s practice within the art historical canon, following her trajectory and rooting her practice within current contemporary sculpture discourse, it was a lively, engaging and truly inspiring discussion, befitting to her practice. #claireburnett #sculpture #painting #sophielachowsky #5howickplaceexhibitionprogramme by @clareeburnett

✨In Conversation: Clare Burnett with Sophie Lachowsky✨ Wednesday 20 May 7pm Join us at 5 Howick Place SW1P 1WG, where @clareeburnett will be in conversation with art historian @sophielachowsky as they walk and talk through the ideas, materials and processes that shape Burnett’s practice. Moving through the exhibition together, they will discuss how Burnett’s multi disciplinary background informs her approach to making. They will reflect on her use of everyday, found and fabricated objects, her sensitivity to colour and spatial relationships, and the ways in which contemporary themes of collecting, consumerism, surveillance, and cultural history feed into her quietly subversive, playful and thoughtful body of work. RSVP required- message us to join the guest list. Photo @thierry_bal by @clareeburnett
🔥 Don’t miss @clareeburnett “The Objects are Watching I-VI”, 2026, Plastic, paper, glue, pigments and Cypriot oxides dimensions variables “All materials carry the same value for the artist, who dismisses “art world” hierarchies of value. This is exemplified in her use of plastic, paper and clay as an equal of other “precious” materials. The homonymous series “The Objects are Watching”, (2026) are stacked bowls, buckets and other readily available plastic objects under layers of papier-mâché. Reconfigured into anthropomorphic sculptures, they stand tall, like totems of contemporary consumerism or harbingers of an ecological disaster. “Like the household terracottas of the past, today’s everyday plastics bear witness,” the artist writes “watching over our actions and lives until they too become the archaeology of the future.” Extract from Pavlina’s Paraskevaidou text Exhibition continues until 27th of May @artseen_contemporary Curated by @mariastathip Photo @nicoslouca by @clareeburnett
