‘What Is Love, If Not Beauty Defined’

What is love, if not beauty defined?
A pointer on a protractor, a vision in kind.
A life expanding, pulsing, beating;
just listen to the trees; the gushing, the weaving.
The life they shelter, the life they sustain,
is love, unconditioned, needing no name.

Through rose-tinted glass, perception bends;
not to distort, but make amends.
Gratitude blooms in the way that we see,
and love is our truth, our living decree.
Are they mere lenses, or windows made new?
Beauty discovered in all that we choose,
the love all around us, an expression of truth.

A cat on your lap, the sun on your skin;
small moments of joy giving warmth from within.
Do such gentle blessings pass without meaning,
or are they the point, the thought, and the feeling?
Love moves through everything; living and being,
in death and in birth, and all the between-ing.
A circle unbroken, sacred, aligned,
where beauty and love are ever entwined.

And the heart, near full, learns how to contain
the wonder, the softness, the joy, and the pain;
for love is the pulse that shapes every line,
and beauty the mirror of all we define.
