The first step of any film is an idea. Here's where The Door Creaks came from: a conversation about short stories, a feature horror idea, and a question about what happens when the supernatural stands in for something painfully real.

I'm pulling back the curtain on how we're making this feature, step by step.

Someone asked me at a festival this weekend: why horror?

I don't think of myself as a horror filmmaker, but the genre lets you say hard things in a way people remember. If you want someone to leave feeling good, make something else. If you want them to leave thinking, horror is a wonderful place to do it.

Following the making of The Door Creaks here.

THE OTHER WITHIN is twenty minutes, free on YouTube, and nothing in it is quite what it seems....

If you haven't watched it yet, this is your sign. Link in bio.

Guardian Angels is playing SCUFF in Columbia!!!

Sunday, November 8th at 1:00 at the Nickelodeon Theater. It's the spy thriller we shot in and around Greenville, and if you've been wanting to see it on a big screen this is your chance.

Who's coming?!?

Okay.... I can finally talk about this one!

The Door Creaks is my next feature, and the screenplay is an Official Selection at the Muzzle Awards. It's a psychological horror thriller with a parallel fairy-tale narrative, and I'm writing, directing and producing it here in South Carolina. We're in development and financing right now, so you're going to be hearing a LOT about it from me.

Is it weird to be this excited about a script?!?

37 GHOSTS is streaming free on YouTube....

I wrote it, directed it and edited it, and the directing is always the part that matters most to me. Spooky Season is a good excuse to show it off.

Link in bio.

Perfidia is an Official Selection at the Muzzle Awards!!!

This one started years before we shot it. A few of us got the itch to make something spooky and just decided to do it, with our own time and our own equipment.... so it means a lot that it's still finding people.

The festival is online, October 21st!

@Notsoseriousbethy @catborovicka @jroystonmedia thank you again, you were incredible.
