POSTS STORIES REELS

At Common Thread, we show up as real people first - because that’s how real connection (and real change) happens. Human first, therapist second. It’s our whole philosophy, because if we ask you to show up as authentically yourself…why shouldn’t we be expected to do the same?

Curious to know if we could be a good support for you? Book a free consult at the link in bio today, or by visiting www.commonthreadpsychology.com

The Better Sleep Blueprint is officially here!

If you’ve ever thought…

”Why can’t I just fall asleep?”
“Why am I so tired all day, but wide awake the second my head hits the pillow?”
“Why does nothing seem to help?”

…this program was made for you.

The Better Sleep Blueprint is a 6 week, self guided, evidence based program designed to help you overcome chronic insomnia using the same principles I use in 1:1 therapy with my insomnia clients.

Inside you’ll learn:

🌙 why insomnia develops and what causes it to stick around
🧠 how to calm a brain that’s constantly thinking about sleep
📊 how to improve your sleep efficiency using evidence based CBT-I strategies
💭 how acceptance based strategies can help you stop fighting with sleep
📚practical, step by step lessons, activities, and resources you can come back to whenever you need them

This is a structured program built around the gold standard treatment for insomnia (CBT-I), with a flexible, compassionate approach.

Comment HELPMESLEEP on this post to receive a link to the program to your email inbox, as well as free evidence based sleep recommendations.

Whether you’ve struggled for months or years, you deserve restful sleep.

Tap the link in bio to learn more and to see if the Better Sleep Blueprint could be right for you.

Here’s to better sleep 🤍

Has caring for others come at the expense of caring for yourself?

This month’s book club pick is Codependent No More by Melody Beattie. Codependency can look like tying your sense of worth or emotional well being to someone else, constantly prioritizing their needs, fixing their problems, or feeling responsible for their emotions…often at the expense of your own.

This book offers a reminder that we can love others deeply without losing ourselves in the process. Healthy boundaries aren’t selfish, and prioritizing yourself isn’t something to feel guilty about.

Today we’re getting to know our resident trauma therapist a bit better ❤️ Meet Josie.

Josie’s approach is rooted in curiosity and compassion. She is gifted in her ability to create a space in which you feel safe, understood and supported as you make sense of your experiences. Rather than rushing the process, she prioritizes connection, collaboration, and understanding.

Sleep work is my passion. One of the reasons this work means so much to me is because I know firsthand how debilitating chronic insomnia can be. I know how exhausting it can be when sleep becomes something you dread rather than look forward to. When bedtime brings anxiety, panic and defeat. When you’re constantly worrying about how you will function on such little sleep, or when you’re running on empty day after day.

And I also know how life changing it can be to start sleeping again ❤️

Now, as a therapist specializing in sleep, I get to help people untangle the patterns, fears and frustrations that keep them stuck in that cycle.

Everyone deserves to experience a bedtime that feels peaceful rather than stressful, and I am truly honoured to get to be a part of helping so many people find their way back to that.

If you or someone you know struggles with chronic insomnia, feel free to reach out at info@commonthreadpsychology.com or book in for a free consult at www.commonthreadpsychology.com.

Relationships take work, but you don’t have to figure it all out on your own. Common Thread’s couples therapist Christine helps partners strengthen communication, navigate challenges, and find their way back to connection.

Christine is a naturally soft, gentle soul that isn’t afraid to challenge you when that challenge could mean you take the next step towards growth as a couple.

Christine is accepting new clients and offers free consults so you can decide whether or not things feel like a good fit before making any kind of commitment.

Our new blog is up! This month we’re talking about burnout, and specifically how recovery requires looking deeper than just what you’re doing to examine why you’re doing it as well.

Different therapists, different areas of focus, one common thread 🧵

From trauma and anxiety to relationships, life transitions, sleep, and everything in between, we each bring our own experiences, training, and perspectives to the work we do. But what connects us is how we show up. With warmth, curiosity, compassion, and a genuine understanding that being human can be hard sometimes.

We’re not here to have all the answers or to tell you how to live your life. We’re here to meet you where you are, help you make sense of what you’re carrying, and figure things out together.

At Common Thread, we believe good therapy is about more than what we know. It’s about how we make you feel while we work through it together.

So much love went into creating this room, and we hope to put that love back out into the world through the work that happens here.

This space was created specifically for couples and families. For the hard conversations, the moments of understanding, the patterns that need breaking, the relationships worth fighting for, and the small shifts that bring people closer together.

For partners learning to find each other again. For parents and children working to understand one another. For families figuring out how to navigate the messy, complicated, very human experience of being in relationship with each other.

We believe connection matters. And we’re pretty grateful that we get to help people nurture it.

Welcome to our new couples and family therapy space at Common Thread. 🤎
