Hey ✌🏾 This is Corinne. I am so happy to launch Dikenga today! Dikenga is a space that encourages self-expression and nurtures creativity. I created this space because I, too have struggled (and still do) to rest in that energy. Heartbreaks and challenging experiences made me guard my heart and stifled my expression. I believed that by doing so, I would be safe and protected —— only to realize that it was costing me my health and aliveness. For years, I’ve struggled with endometriosis, a condition that is still misunderstood and for which there is currently no cure at. It is mostly treated on a physical level, often leaving aside the emotional, mental, social and spiritual aspects. This is why my services currently focus on those who need support with the condition and anybody willing to reconnect with their body and womb. If this deeply resonates, I’d love to hear from you. 📸: @felixlsalazar by @corinnemayunga

🌞 My EP is now out on most platforms and I am quite … speechless 🌞 Nothing can express how liberating this work has been. The process of finding my voice has been a scary one. I aspire to be an artist that strives to serve truth, aliveness, self-expression, freedom, love, acceptance. Embodying those principles is a challenging endeavor but I am committed to the process. This is just the beginning of the practice 🌞 📸 : @evelyne.raje by @corinnemayunga
Our next guest! ✨ We’re very excited to have Corinne joining us tomorrow, Friday, August 28th! Corinne Lembe Mayunga is a French-Congolese singer-songwriter and transformational coach. My essay “Stillness in the Turning” is available in volume 2 of Meander Magazine 🌀 This piece is about weathering life storms and accepting change. Storms are freaking scary—they symbolize profound change through intense purification. And whenever they loomed, I ran as fast as I could. But eventually, you can’t outrun your own tempest. Last year, I was confronted with a storm I couldn’t escape. It reveals everything I didn’t want to see. It left me weak, sick but also lighter and freer. I feel so lucky to have received that much support and guidance—because that storm hit like a comet. If you are going through a stormy season, may you find the courage and support to let it move through you and become anew. “These times are not an ending but a necessary decomposition before renewal. The compassion we need most is not just for others, but for ourselves and for the shadow parts we have rejected and are currently witnessing.” To order volume 2, check the link in the bio 👆🏾 —— Meander is a magazine for bioregional culture, slow living, and regenerative futures. On Tuesday, I was invited by my friend @banusoundd as part of her #sonicjourney monthly episode @refugeworldwide. We spoke about my musical inspirations and what led me to release my first EP, The Stories I Told Myself. For both of us, music is a powerful agent of change—one through which we’ve been able to transmute emotions and pain into meaningful works of art ❤️ 👆🏾Link in the bio for the replay by @corinnemayunga
🚨🚨 On Friday next week, I will be organizing a home concert to celebrate the release of my EP “The Stories I Told Myself” 💫 Most of those songs have been written in the comfort of my own home and I want to recreate this intimate atmosphere. My friend @rossanofrombrazil will be on the piano to keep the magic alive. I hope to see you there! Check the link in the bio for more info 👆🏾 📸 @evelyne.raje by @corinnemayunga

🌊🌊 Friday Release 🌊🌊 Above Water is one of my most intimate songs. I wrote it at a very painful time - I felt so helpless, hopeless, stuck and broken. The experienced traumas, losses, disappointments and obstacles convinced me that I had no control over my life. So what was the point? Why trying? I had given up on life… My self-esteem was at all time low and I started to identify with my victim mentality and eventually self-sabotaged opportunities and relationships. Luckily, I have always been surrounded by friends who would reflect the best of me and help me remember who I was, my worth, my power. The journey towards unlearning and acceptance has been challenging but so rewarding. I am ready to end the cycle and I can’t wait to share this one 🌊 📸 : @evelyne.raje #learnedhelplessness #limitingselfbeliefs #shadowwork #cyclebreaker #completion #ara #abovewater by @corinnemayunga
Grateful. Grateful. Grateful. I never thought that the first songs that I’ll bring to the world would be about setbacks, heartbreaks, disappointments, losses, shadow and shame. I used to be a “good vibes only” kind of person and rejected any parts of me deemed unacceptable. I carried my emotional baggage and my inner battlefield everywhere I went, and blamed everything outside of me. I hid all this mess by being the good girl. It took me sometime to realize that I was running an old software that was setting me up for more suffering and hurt. It took some time to realize how I was giving my power away. I made The Stories I Told Myself to honor the messiness, the shame and vulnerabilities despite the traumas and social conditioning. I made this EP to remember that being powerful has always been my birthright. Thank you to my beautiful friend @rossanofrombrazil for trusting my vision and happy to share the first single in the next days. Désinstallation en cours… Salut 2022 ✌🏾 📸 @yannickselinger #ARA #thestoriesitoldmyself #completion #personalpower #embracedarkness by @corinnemayunga
I’m pregnant🤰🏾 Last summer, I started writing the concept of The Stories I Told Myself, a five-track EP that describes my journey back home, my creative center, my womb. My childhood was filled with conflicts and losses and left me feeling homesick, inadequate, damaged, unworthy of love, distrustful. My sense of self was completely shattered. As a child of immigrant parents, I was attached to the idea that I had to make my parents’ sacrifices worthwhile which meant living the dreams they had envisioned for me. I didn’t realize that by doing so, I was avoiding life, my life. I didn’t know that being me was just enough. I didn’t know that I was already whole and powerful beyond measure. This EP is an act of forgiveness and compassion for the person I used to be. I feel her, I see her and thank her. I am so so so looking forward to sharing this first chapter of my life. 📸 : @evelyne.raje #fullmoon #scorpioenergy by @corinnemayunga
