We’ve been so busy in the action we have lagged on the content! This week at #TheParkHouseMontecito. Hardscaping on the south side is almost complete, staining and distressing beams, tiling 3 out of the 9 bathrooms, framing fireplaces, fabricating marble & more!

October palette — a study in rich warmth, patina, and pieces that feel collected rather than decorated.

As our CH Construction team is working hard at the Park House, behind the scenes we’re in the soft finishes phase now; pulling together the final layers: aged woods, sculptural forms, deep earthy tones, antique-inspired lighting, worn metals, rich textiles, and objects with soul. The goal is a home that feels timeless, grounded, and quietly lived-in — never too new, never too perfect.

This is the palette guiding us right now. #TheParkHouseMontecito

THIS PAST WEEK was all about concrete. Shotcrete and interior lightweight float all went down at #TheParkHouseMontecito.

On the interiors were one step closer to wood & tile flooring and plastering the walls. The kitchen hood is being framed and things are M O V I N G!

Happy 42nd birthday to the heart, hands, and vision behind so much of what we do at Cove House.

Chase is a true builder in every sense of the word. A craftsman by nature, he is someone who could quite literally build a house with his own two hands. What started five years ago as a passion project—renovating our own homes, making our own vanities, working alongside the trades, and personally bringing so many details of our projects to life—has grown into the team and company we have today.

And yet, even as Cove House has grown, that part of Chase has never changed. He is meticulous, endlessly curious, deeply creative, and always striving to make something better.

It is one of the things I admire most about him, and one of the greatest inspirations behind Cove House.

Happy birthday, Chase. I can’t wait to see what 42 brings.

The cobbler has no shoes…

We’ve been so wrapped up in actually doing the work — moving projects forward, making design decisions, sourcing finishes, solving problems and spending our days on site — that sharing it all here has taken a bit of a back seat.

But there’s so much happening behind the scenes at Cove House, and we have some really good content in the works. Excited to start sharing more of it with you soon.

Another week of progress at #TheParkHouseMontecito. From drywall and exterior stucco prep to pool rebar, ADU work, and the first stages of our exterior finishes — there’s a lot happening at Park House right now, and it’s exciting to watch it all start to come together. Finally!

A little bit of everything happening at #TheParkHouseMontecito. Pool excavation, drywall going up, decking tile being laid, and exterior plaster prep underway. So many moving pieces, and it’s exciting to see this historic home take shape, one layer at a time.
The best part is watching all the details we’ve spent months planning finally come to life.

Material updates at #TheParkHouseMontecito.

We’re starting to install our exterior flooring and decking, and it’s so exciting to see another layer of the house come to life. Finding materials that feel authentic to an almost 100-year-old home can be tricky, so we love mixing old and new.

For the upstairs decking, we found a newer terracotta that felt like the perfect fit. Downstairs, we wanted something with a little more age and soul, so we waited months and months for an antique Italian terracotta to make its way overseas — and it finally arrived today.

We’re so excited to see how it plays out across the downstairs patios and brings that collected, timeless feeling to the house.

Digging deep and pouring concrete over at #TheParkHouseMontecito. Pool excavation is officially underway, the patio slab is going in, and things are really starting to take shape around here.

Messy progress is still progress — and this week was a big one.
