Women are climbing harder than ever, but why are we still seeing men dominate climbing news? In order to make a splash in climbing media, women often have to be the “first”, which incidentally puts women against each other. We explored this topic in the most recent @crcleup episode, trying to make guesses on why this may be—do you agree? And why is this? by @crcleup
In episode 60 we discuss the potential blowback of being an athlete who endorses Only🪭s. Can they rebrand to being a platform more like Patreon or has it gone too far? What would the consequences be to your other contracts? Listen to find out what we think!! Do you think they could pull off a rebrand? by @crcleup
OUT NOW 📣 E60 HOT TAKES: Athletes Endorsing OnlyFans, the Glorification of Free Soloing, and Sports-Washing In this episode we debated a ton of interesting and contentious topics. We start with the apparent glorification of danger, specifically free soloing and highballing and how it relates to the age of social media and click baiting. We then discuss how OnlyFans has been offering athletes contracts to endorse their platform and use it however they want to—we discuss whether this would change your career as a professional athlete or limit potential opportunities. That leads to a conversation about the use of athletes to garner positive public perception and how the “Enhanced Games” are doing just that for big pharma and venture capitol firms. We also go a bit more climbing specific and talk about whether it still counts as a “flash” if you’ve trained on a 3D printed replica before trying an outdoor boulder. This was spicier than our typical episodes so PLEASE let us know what you think! by @crcleup

Listen to find out ☺️ Jon has been a professional climber for over 20 years and Jess has her PHD in journalistic photography, making them the ultimate power couple to create climbing cinematography and photography. We talk everything from Jess’s PHD and start in climbing, to Jon’s own climbing career, to shooting the Olympics and traveling around Europe to film professional climbers on their various adventures. by @crcleup
E58 is out now! In this episode @kyra_condie and @frederica_robin talk about the instant mood boost that comes from sending outside and whether that is really “healthy.” They also share what it is like to climb with partners who are either much stronger or less experienced, and how to make that gap a positive experience no matter which side you are on. by @crcleup
Sevan McLean joined us with his coach and friend @matwrightclimber for our latest episode of our mini series, The Mentorship Sessions. He told us how he’s tried to pass on psych and knowledge to his climbing community through coaching the youth team and why he chose to find a coach to work with for himself. Mat and Sevan have a fantastic relationship and have mentored each other in ways many can relate to, climbing with people you resonate with and sharing that psych can make finding motivation much easier for everyone 🤘🏼 by @crcleup
Episode 3 of our mini series The Mentorship Sessions is out now!! Featuring @matwrightclimber and his good friend and client Sevan McLean, we chatted about a whole variety of topics, like how mentorship can go both ways and how it’s important to find someone who brings out the best in you and who you can relate to. Both Mat and Sevan shared a ton of insight into their own life and climbing career, how they both stated climbing later in life and progressed quickly, how they started working together, and much more. The second episode of our mini-series The Mentorship Sessions is live! 🎙️ This time we’re joined by @realwillgadd and @timemmett—longtime friends, climbing partners, and adventure athletes who’ve taken on some of the boldest objectives out there, both together and on their own. We dive into what they’ve learned from each other over the years, the balance between psych and knowledge, how they approach risk assessment, and so much more. In this clip, @timemmett shares what it was like to walk away from BASE jumping, a sport he loved but realized wasn’t sustainable long-term, especially with a family to think about. Both Tim and Will successfully stepped back from BASE jumping, something incredibly rare in that community, which makes their insights on risk and decision-making even more powerful. by @crcleup

In this clip, Kyra is recounting a dynamic that was particularly challenging for her growing up on her youth team; feeling like she was being compared to and pitted against the other girls on the team for liking different things and being motivated by different goals. by @crcleup
