“In my creative process, I don’t rely on themes or concepts to make dances, but rather focus on objects considered in a space/time axis or images I have in mind. If the dance is a collaboration, my partner may shake-in an unexpected idea, demanding an immediate action in response. Scooping up and sifting material is the inspired dance that occurs spontaneously during creation. It is the essence of improvisation. This exhibit and book of photography captures the improvisation in the act of taking a picture and the collaborative dance of the photographer and dancer.”

« Dans mon processus créatif, je ne m’appuie pas sur des thèmes ou des concepts pour créer des danses, mais je me concentre plutôt sur des objets considérés selon un axe spatio-temporel ou sur des images que j’ai en tête. Si la danse est le fruit d’une collaboration, mon partenaire peut faire surgir une idée inattendue, exigeant une réaction immédiate. C’est en puisant et en tamisant la matière que naît la danse inspirée qui surgit spontanément pendant la création. C’est l’essence même de l’improvisation.
