Interview excerpts for Siilk Gallery.

“What I put in my work is a mirror of my psyche. It is how I experience the world. Not visually, but viscerally. It is a projection of states I’ve went through over many years spent gripped by wild paralyzing anxiety, endlessly swinging between one bad mental state into another. And I didn’t have the language for it. Hence I guess the aesthetic I’m using, which feels natural to my grim and distorted experiences. Like the right mediator. Through it we can connect, not through logic or language, but on a deeper level. If I tried to explain them in words, I’d probably fail. And whoever listened won’t be able to understand either. But through images, maybe something else happens. Maybe a deeper connection becomes possible.“

“Art direction taught me to build what isn’t there. Photography taught me to value what appears. Film… taught me that all of it only works in time.“ @yzavoku for @siilkgallery 🔗 Link in bio! 💎 taken in Madrid, Spain by @danielpeace

NEW FEATURE 🖤 @rosemihman “Barely 23 years old, Paris-based visual artist and photographer Rose Mihman has been exploring a surreal, painterly universe since adolescence. Entirely self-taught, she has developed a distinctive visual language rooted in an obsession with portraiture – particularly self-portraiture. Through meticulous staging, elaborate styling, and transformative makeup, she creates eccentric, almost mythic figures, infusing each image with an unmistakable presence and soul.” Link in bio! 💜 taken in Paris, France by @danielpeace

As spaces in the main building are close to being finished and ready to be finessed I’m starting to get excited about some parts of the building that haven’t yet been touched. Roll on the next big jobs! @cascinadellarte

@cascinadellarte is coming along nicely! Room by room, wall by wall, floor by floor (piano piano). I love restoring this 16th century farmhouse even as every task complete leads to another bunch of new ones. It’s changed so much since getting the keys at the start of this year which is hard to see while being here working on the space until people pass through or you reflect on past photos. Still a mountain of work to be done but already great memories have been made and many more to come. Very excited to officially open the doors in 2026 and welcoming you all! 🏡 🎨 🍷 🌳
