POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Back in January, an anaconda grabbed our dog right in our backyard in Suriname. One of the craziest and most intense moments we’ve ever experienced.
Thankfully, he survived, with help from neighbour @_.sooner_or_gavin._ 🐍#fyp #viral #wildlife #snake #anaconda scary taken in Suriname by @danny.stark91

This is the crazy Pipa pipa, also known as the Surinam toad. One of the weirdest amphibians on earth. Fully aquatic, leaf-shaped, and famous for carrying eggs inside the skin on its back. How cool is that!

A wild anaconda feeding on a four-eyed opossum is not something you see every day! The jungle is full of surprises and no evening is the same. In Peperpot Nature Park during a night hike we came across this anaconda! 🇸🇷🌿

My first harpy eagle! And even more special, in peperpot nature park, just 15 minutes from the city. Although i am not a bird fanatic in general it was very cool to see! #suriname #surinamewildlife #peperpot @unlocknature.tours #harpy #harpyeagle taken in Suriname by @danny.stark91

This is a Tarantula Hawk wasp carrying a pinktoe tarantula. Despite its name, the wasp doesn't eat the spider immediately. Instead, it paralyzes the tarantula with one of the most painful insect stings in the world and drags it to a burrow. There it lays an egg on the spider. When the larvae hatches, it feeds on the still living tarantula, keeping it alive for as long as possible to make sure it has fresh food. #Suriname #rainforest #wildlife #nature #tarantulahawk taken in Brownsberg, Suriname by @danny.stark91

I do volunteer work for @stichtingsnakepatrolsuriname but sometimes we receive calls for animals other but snakes. If we can we always try to help out. This time it was a howler monkey inside someone his bathroom. Most likely it has lost his group due to deforestation/development. I safely caught the monkey and we released it in a place where there are other groups of howler monkeys. Hopefully this young male will join a new pack.

Some of the snakes i kept years ago and some of you might don't know. Now living in a snake infested country there is no need in keeping them besides some relocations our rescues. Now i have the possibility to see them often in the wild. #boiga #mangrovesnake #fyp #wildlife #reptilesofinstagram by @danny.stark91

Leeches don’t just feed on mammals. Sometimes reptiles become targets too 👀. I removed the leech and will put that video in my stories later!

A wild sloth climbing down from the canopy to poop right in front of me.
Sloths only do this about once a week, which makes sightings like this surprisingly rare!
