🍾BOYCOTT TITO'S VODKA🍹

The owner of Tito's Vodka is helping to build a data center in Martindale.

Through Capital Land Investments, Tito Beveridge has been buying up thousands of acres of farm land in Martindale’s backyard—and is now working directly with “Edged” to develop a massive data center.

___

How you can help:

Boycott Tito’s — spread the word.

Beveridge’s “Capital Land Investments” still owns ~2400 acres . . . and public pressure on the Tito’s brand could complicate construction & prevent the data center’s expansion.

Tito's invests in a popular instagram presence — tag, comment, and message their account to let workers and customers know what's happening. Make memes about Beveridge and Tito’s. Say it loud: Tito’s is helping develop data centers. by @data.center.action.coalition

Tell your friends, all out to Crystal Clear next Thursday! 8/27, 6:30pm. Arrive early or email info@crystalclearsud.org to sign up to speak.

This time, it’s at the Geronimo Community Center (280 Navarro Drive in Seguin)

Palomino is coming back to Crystal Clear again to try to get water. This is our chance for a THIRD WIN against data centers in this cluster. CCSUD will finally be voting this time, so we need everyone to show up and make our voices heard!
Last month we learned about the major corruption scandal involving Palomino & Guadalupe Co. Judge Kyle Kutscher, who has been coming to every Crystal Clear board meeting to pressure the board into approving water so that his family can make $62 million off their land sale to Palomino. This is after he coordinated Palomino’s tax abatement behind the scenes while publicly pretending to recuse himself. And he may have gotten away with it, if not for us meddling kids.

Now it’s time for us to finish the job and stand up against corruption and reckless development! This meeting is going to be a long one - come ready to hang out for a bit. See you there! by @data.center.action.coalition

👏 AUSTIN! THIS IS THE MOMENT TO DEMAND A BAN ON NEW DATA CENTERS. RESOLUTION LANGUAGE ON THE TABLE IS WEAK. WE NEED TO TAKE THE MATTER INTO OUR OWN HANDS. SHARE, SHOW UP AND WRITE CITY LEADERS ➡️ link in bio (sorry for yelling, but this is really important)

THURSDAY, AUGUST 27 • 9 AM
Austin City Council Meeting • Item 61
Austin City Hall, 301 W. 2nd St.

Want to speak? Register starting Monday, August 24. Council requires advance registration for agenda-item testimony; you can register to speak in person or remotely through the City’s Council meeting speaker sign-up. Online registration ends Wednesday 8/26 at noon.

FACTS// Texas is already facing a projected water shortage measured in trillions of gallons, while data centers are adding COLLOSSAL new demands for water, electricity, land and infrastructure. ERCOT’s queue contains more than 438,000 MW of proposed large-load demand, nearly 90% associated with data centers.

NOT TODAY, SERVERS// Austin does not need to become another data-center hub. Corporate interests will keep pushing until the public draws a line they cannot cross, moratorium and ban.

GOOD NEIGHBORS// San Marcos showed what this movement can look like. The Data Center Action Coalition, Save Our Springs and local residents turned the fight against the Mayberry data center into a broader campaign for local control. That work helped pave the way for San Marcos to become the first Texas city to prohibit data centers.

Austin has the same power. LETS USE IT.

Our Environmental Commission has already recommended a moratorium on new data centers in Austin and the ETJ. Now Council needs to hear from ALL OF US.

🚫 STOP THE DATA CENTER DRAIN.

Thank you to @kvuenews for covering a major win for Caldwell County. Thanks to all of our collective efforts, we have successfully pressured the Caldwell County Commissioners Court to pause tax abatements for data centers. Caldwell DCAT has demanded this for months: that we cannot give away tens of millions of tax dollars for extremely weak concessions.

We also know the work is not over: this is a very temporary commitment that lasts through the election season, and we know it was borne out of months of community pressure and a major scandal that has rocked our Caldwell County government. This also does not change that trust has been broken with our County Judge. We need to keep making our voice heard, continue to show up, and ensure our community doesn’t get sold out from under us. taken in Caldwell County by @data.center.action.coalition

THIS THURSDAY AT 9:00AM: Pack the Caldwell County Courthouse to demand the resignation of County Judge Hoppy Haden.

As a reminder, DA Fred Weber recently fired Assistant DA Richard Sitton because he & Hoppy entered into a pre-sales agreement to sell their neighboring ranches to a data center developer. Weber cited the appearance of potential conflict of interest and impropriety involving insider information.

Hoppy and Richard are directly responsible for orchestrating massive tax incentives to data centers, including for Prime & Edged. It was also revealed that the vast majority of Hoppy’s campaign funding comes from one person: a land man who buys and sells land for corporate developments, including data centers, in Caldwell County.

This is a bridge too far. Hoppy stood before hundreds of community members at our May town hall and pledged that he’s doing everything he can to stand up for folks who are deeply concerned about data centers flooding into the county. Being County Judge requires absolute transparency and undivided loyalty to the community, not financial ties to the very industry residents are fighting to hold accountable. taken in Caldwell County by @data.center.action.coalition

The data has been out for a while now. If by now you still willfully ignore the elephant in the room, I really don’t know what to say to you.
but for those that have answered the call, remember, the fastest way out of a storm is through it. We outnumber them by the billions. It’s safe to say they stand no chance as long as we keep our cool and our heads together.
Alone we are weak and vulnerable, but together we are the elephant that can remove any obstacle in its path, paving the way for others to join. Feel the victory within our grasp, keep your guard up and enjoy the ride comrades. by @data.center.action.coalition

Sharing Caldwell County Judge Hoppy Haden and District Attorney Fred Weber’s full announcements this morning at the Caldwell County Commissioners Court meeting where it was revealed that Judge Haden and Assistant DA Richard Sitton both entered into pre-sales agreements with a land acquisition company to potentially sell their land for a data center. Subsequently, Assistant DA Sitton was fired by DA Fred Weber for the “appearance of impropriety and conflict of interest”. taken in Caldwell County by @data.center.action.coalition
