Completed the @dalesdivide bikepacking race over the weekend. A tough, rough race going over the Yorkshire Dales (twice) and the North York Moors.
.
I managed to finish 27th overall (I think), completing the 376 mile, 31,811 ft route in 55h 31min (or 2 days 7h 31m).
.

1. Completed it m8.
2. Final prep before heading to the start.
3. Receiving final instruction at Arnside Pier before the grand depart.
4. Passing the Ribblehead Viaduct.
5. Sheltering from the rain and refuelling in Summerbridge.
6. Night 1 and still peddling heading towards York.
7. Found a Church in Great Ouseburn to grab a couple hours sleep.
8. Stopped for 💩 and to refuel again @ Thornholme.
9. Stopped for 10mins sleep at the side of the road. Amazing how much it helped.
10. Scarborough beach.
11. Coming out of Scarborough I followed an old train line. Went through this old station and platform. Thought it looked cool.
12. Into the 2nd night and now on the North York Moors.
13. A much needed Coffee leaving Catterick (looking very tired).
14. The men from @restrap spent 2 days in the hut supplying riders with a warm drink and noodles.
15. The long grind up Cam High Road.
16. Leaving Dent, finish in sight now.
17. Finished.
18. Enjoying a pint on the beach.

Kong Winter Series race 5 @kongrunningkeswick BB Kong (Blencathra and Blease).
The final race of the series. Easily my favourite. That descent is fantastic. Not sure everyone agrees on that 😂 plenty injuries and blood at the end 😬🫠. That’s fell running.
.
Took a risky line on the ridge to avoid a climb, was a good line on my recce. Today it went wrong, lost the path in the clag 🤦🏻‍♂️😂. Cost me a few places. Luckily I enjoy descending. Made those places back plus a few more. Even had time to blow @stephen.wilson999 a kiss (photo 4) 😂.
4th v40 on the day.
Somehow my results over this series has managed to get me the win (v40) over the 5 races (4 to count). Always nice to win something, I don’t usually.

Bob Graham Round completed 21 hours 48mins later.

Hodgson Brothers Mountain Relay.

A day of skitting, laughing and gaining another coaster to the collection. Long may it continue.

Racing in pairs and as a team for a change, a bit different from the solo racing. Still one of the best fell races of the season.

The little old @ellenborough_ac crew are getting older and slower. But we’re still turning up 💪 🇺🇦

3 Shires Fell race on the Saturday, Bob Graham support on the Sunday.
I call that a good weekend.

We won’t talk about my race, 👎🙁but here’s 2 pictures from @granddayoutphotography .

But we will talk about the other pictures and Annie on her successful BGR. Awesome grit, congratulations 👏.
That Leg 4 was some of the worst weather I’ve ever been out in. Awful wind and rain from Red Pike to Honister. At one point all 3 of us were blown off our feet and unable to move forward 😂
Proper fun 😂 loved it 😁

Grisedale Horseshoe.

.
Back to some racing it is then.
Legs were terrible up the first climb to Birkhouse Moor. Managed to recover and picked the pace up on the flat run to Red Tarn. Enjoyed it from here, making up a few places all the way to the finish.

A great way to shake the legs out.

30th overall and 7th v40.

Penrith Calling 🎸

A busy couple of weeks with Le Tour followed by Kendal Calling.
A good laugh with an even better crew.

Highlight was winning a trophy for making it back to the tent Saturday night 🍾. Oh and Dick N Dom 🎉
