Another Ennerdale horsehoe fell race beetle's eye view clip. Number 69 Bryan Dooley of City Racing finished the 37km 2300m epic in 27th place in exactly 5 hours and 5 minutes. Number 85, local Dava Williams of Ellenbrough AC, finished in 26th 27 seconds ahead - despite coming off a night shift to run (mandatory for Elbra runners).

Watching Toddy continuing to play for @workingtonrfc. What a legend as he's playing in a team that now has players who went to school with my son.
We also managed to get his game shirt with @christopher_lister and @dava02w in the charity auction raising a huge amount of money for great causes.

So much fun, the best company, sharing with the kids unforgettable moments, acting like kids ourselves, time to recover.

Went along to a local car meet/show (@wheelsintlakes ) with a few mates today, which was great not having to set off super early and drive for miles. Cool little event and the track action was enjoyable.
I always love seeing the local cars that people have tucked away.
Van came away with cleanest engine, which I’m happy about as the engine/engine bay is probably the part I’m most proud of with the van, and the one thing that is most overlooked, with people not knowing what they are looking at and thinking it’s just the same as all those thrown together engine conversions.

Great day out yesterday with the forum at Tatton Park show, it’s always nice catching up with everyone. Thanks to all those that stopped for a chat and look over the vans.
I personally didn’t take many decent photos so I’ve just stole some off Dava, including one from when the van was in monster truck mode.

Ennerdale Horseshoe fell race…

Usually described as the ‘fast, runnable’ @lakelandclassicstrophy race, with a Kenny Stuart record that suggests as much, it’s worth remembering that it’s ‘fast’ and ‘runnable’ FOR A LAKELAND CLASSIC (the moniker given to the longest, toughest Lakes fell races).

At approximately halfway round runners summit Green Gable (the fell in the background of the penultimate picture) before descending to the very aptly named Windy Gap before the main meat of the race rears its head.

Many runners were smiling at this point…except @tanyaraab …who looks like she wanted to punch my lens down my throat 😅

@threepeaksracesupportedbyinov8 …

…I would LOVE to win this race but “you gotta be in it to win it” and this year, as with too many years in the past, various issues have meant I was a spectator yet again.

Perfect conditions for running meant it was anyone’s for the taking. Blue skies, cool temps and dry underfoot brought up the ‘road shoes vs fell shoes’ debate.

Race winners @keswickac @hollywootten and @rossendaleharriers @grantcunliffe both opted for some road / trail shoes for the hard-packed trails…my feet inwardly screamed whenever someone passed me in some thin-soled X-Talons or Terrex SG’s 🫣

Managed to get to Pen-y-Ghent and the long, seemingly endless run-in from Ingleborough so was able to get the full range of f**kery in in facial expressions between the opening miles and closing miles…I don’t miss those feelings 🤣

Next year is the year…or maybe the one after 🤷‍♂️😅
