We staved off the apocalypse with some naked sun gazing and an offering of body juice to sky daddy. So you’re all welcome. My bones feel funny like an xray moonburn, and my sore fingertip is more enjoyable to chew than before it got juiced. Some bruises just beg to be pressed.

If you’re an uncultured swine, the song I used in this is Cryptorchid by the god of fuck, @marilynmanson. Hope he doesn’t mind.

Better late than never! Today marks 30 years from the execution of John Wayne Gacy, the killer clown. He spent 14 years on death row, drawing and painting an unending catalogue of art pieces.
💀
The Gacy bag in this video was crafted by the very talented @selfmadeboogeyman of @thegraveyardgallery . Both are worth a follow, his creations are to kill for.
💀
My personal clown girl @leech.wife did clown things on camera for many hours today after spending a fair amount of time getting her look just right. She’s the owner of one of the VERY few creative opinions that I value. She just gets it! 🤡🎈
🌮
Before the shoot we stopped at @revolutionvegankitchen and got literally the best tacos in Austin. So this was fueled with vegan Carne Asada, and a vegan Big Mac.

I’m still alive. Maybe more than ever. Maybe not. The funny thing about living is that you stop showing everyone that you’re doing it because you’re too busy doing it, and then people think you’ve passed.

Friends become family. Old homes become new homes. Nothing is constant. Nothing is permanent.

Change every day. Stay the same too. Live while you’re alive, the end will come soon. by @death.scum

We’re starting a new vlog series where we take you along with us as we explore our beautiful neighborhood of Logan Square and check out some of the other small businesses and artists you can find around Covet!

First up, is @westbranchtattoo, a collective of tattoo artists over on W Armitage. Amongst the skilled and talented folks there, you can find @bryson.ai, one of the artists that KILLED it on the Covet flash tattoos at our one year anniversary event in June. Not only is Bryson an amazing artist, and one hell of a crazy metal head— he’s also our pal, and we were so stoked to visit him in his natural habitat to continue filling up some of this empty skin space.

If you missed out on getting a custom Covet tattoo by Bryson at our celebratory event last month, you can still get the tattoo of your dreams from him over at West Branch! Reach out to him for booking info and availability! 📆

Until next time, see you around the neighborhood!

𝔚𝔢’𝔩𝔩 𝔤𝔢𝔱 𝔬𝔲𝔯 𝔭𝔢𝔞𝔠𝔢 𝔦𝔫 𝔄𝔯𝔪𝔞𝔤𝔢𝔡𝔡𝔬𝔫… 🖤

Beyond honored to have these two wonderful humans stop by the shop yesterday! John & Toby @tobyposer from @adams.family.films were in town for a special q&a screening for their 2021 film release, Hellbender, at the Davis Theater and we were lucky enough to spend some time with them beforehand, and we can attest that they are just the warmest and coolest people around.
Their little family of four, which makes up their production company/artistic collaboration, Wonder Wheel Productions, is out there doing some incredible things for horror, and art in general, and we truly can’t say enough good things about them as people and as creative filmmakers.

If you haven’t checked out any of their films yet, we HIGHLY recommend it. Not only do they write, act in, shoot, direct, edit and produce all of their own films, but they also write and record the scores with their family band, @h6llb6nd6r, as well! They are the true DEFINITION of DIY and staying true to yourself and your vision!!

John & Toby— Thank you guys for taking the time out of your busy day to visit with us, and thank you for absolute beauty you all bring to the horror genre. We cannot wait to see what you do next 🖤

Sending all of our love to the Adams family clan! Stay spooky!!!

We attended Day 1 of Grayscale @grayscalesummit in Salem, MA and it was so much fun!

We had such a great time reconnecting with our old friends, connecting with new ones, getting tips & tricks from likeminded businesses folks and learning about everyone’s individual small biz journey within the alternative community 🖤
We’re sad we were only able to attend one day out of the three, but we’re grateful for the opportunity to attend and for all we learned from our fellow spooky business owners, bosses and baddies 🖤

Shoutout to @amberfromsalem from @diewithbootson and everyone who helped organize and was a part of it!
We hope to do it again next year!

Anton x Jayne forever ♾️
⛧
@death.scum and I have been wanting to recreate these iconic photos of Anton LaVey and Jayne Mansfield hanging out on a casual afternoon for many years now. A lot of people have said @death.scum looks like or gives Anton vibes so when I recently found an artist ( @screwbiter ) who makes a similar piece to the symbolic horned cowl LaVey wears, I knew we had to do it. This is our combined homage to @death.scum’s love for the occult and my obsession with old Hollywood glamour. When both sides meet, it is always legendary, and this friendship was nothing short of that.
I hope we did them both justice.
⛧
The original photos were taken by Walter Fischer sometime in 1966 at the infamous (and long gone) Black House in San Francisco, CA. Anton LaVey and the Hollywood starlet, Jayne Mansfield, had a very famous and publicity-driven friendship and a rumored brief romantic connection in 1966. Their association was heavily documented by paparazzi, leading to sensationalized myths about their connection, including rumors of a curse following Mansfield’s death.
⛧
This set was supposed to be shared yesterday in honor of Halloween, but time got away from me, so we’re starting November off with a whole MOOD. We hope you all had a downright ghastly Halloween. Only 364 more days til we rise again….

I had recorded a whole video where I kind of explain what Erica and my life was like when I wrote this song at like 4 AM four days after meeting her 11 years ago. Sometimes you just know! Instagram unfortunately decided to cut that down to one minute and I don’t feel like dealing with it! ANYWAYS! It’s me and @babe.maggot’s anniversary! We’ve been married for 7 of the 11 years we’ve been together. She’s always been my light in the dark, and we’ve been through hell of a lot! The world has never known a love like ours. I love you @babe.maggot !

Yesterday while walking, I passed by a door that I felt compelled to open. As I entered, I quickly realized I had found my way to @covetoddities , a place I followed here on IG weeks ago, in hopes of visiting on this trip.

Upon entering the store I felt an immediate sense that I was supposed to be there. I asked the owner, Ben, if I could take some photos of the store for him, and as I did he spoke to me about some of the unique items on display at the store. He spoke with such knowledge and passion for all things morbid, I found myself listening to him tell me the stories of these items for nearly an hour, and had I not had somewhere to be, I could have stayed all night.

Later in the evening, while shooting a show at Bottom Lounge, miles away from the store, I happened to run in to Ben again, with his stunning wife, Erica.

This entire encounter was so cosmic feeling that I haven’t stopped thinking about it. Thank you, @death.scum for the absolutely incredible experience. Your passion for death is truly so beautiful and getting to see how excited you were to talk about these things will forever be one of the highlights of this trip for me.

✨ Friends, if you find yourself in Chicago, be sure to make a special trip to @covetoddities ✨ by @death.scum
