This is my first attempt at creating a maquette for my Lost Woodlands project.

Actually it’s already a bit more than a maquette; it’s a hand made photobook printed on super thin Japanese Washi inkjet paper. The effect is one of creating a memory. After the page is turned the image remains. It is seen, yet unseen, faded yet remembered.

The photobook is part fine art folio, part memorial and part documentary, featuring a small selection of photos from my project photographing HS2 construction sites, from the protest camps in 2020-2022, to what remained a year on in 2023. It is a record of human impact on the environment and what has been lost, and continues to be lost to relentless construction and development.

The cover image is the front page of the final set of eviction papers (before the whole route was injuncted, preventing any further protests or scrutiny).

If this is of interest to anyone please DM me as at the moment I can’t afford to make any more for sale! I’m also working on putting together a more accessible and affordable version, with additional materials including original posters and flyers, testimonials and stories from former protesters.

Tonight!!!! Private View from 4- 8pm at @h.artslane Gallery, New Cross Gate. There will be free wine and lots of art.

I’ll be sharing a small selection of work from the HS2 protest camps and construction sites made between 2020-2023. This is basically protest photography, presented in a fine art environment and sharing space with other artists exploring concepts of home and belonging, creating uncanny domestic environments that reflect on power constructs, women’s labour, and reminiscence.

Big thanks to @jonathonvinesphotography and @stevesevilempire for assisting with the install. Brilliant to have other photographers input ❤️

London, England, Uk 09/08/2026 There I was on my way to Screwfix and who turns up on the street but Danny ‘Thommo’ Thomas and his proud Patriot Platform army. This time they came to say hello to the employees of the Daily Mail.

I nipped over to catch a bit of his ‘rousing speech’ where he demonstrated how to count to three, told his black clad, balaclava’d band of followers how to behave in polite company, said ‘we’ll be back’ and that soon they’d be taking over the country. His words were greeted with rapturous applause from the thirty or so attendees.

They were then escorted away to the tube by the police. I asked an officer where they were going when they walked past the tube entrance, she simply looked as bemused as the watching construction workers, shrugged her shoulders and said ‘no idea’

Everyone invited. I will be showing photographic work made around the HS2 camps between 2020 and 2023.

I’m getting it on a wall by stealth, because it’s still a political hot potato and doesn’t quite fall into the ‘history’ bracket because there isn’t an ‘end’ to the story yet. This work focuses on nature and the environment as ‘home’ and a place to which we all belong. It explores the homes created in the trees as places of protection, both for the inhabiting humans and for the wildlife and ecosystem under threat. The work documents the camps, the people who made the woods their home in a bid to protect them from destruction, and what those areas looked like, a year after the injunction preventing further protest was served💚

Gallery opening times are:-

Today Just Stop Oil returned.

We blocked the road outside Parliament just as Andy Burnham's first PMQs as Prime Minister began, calling on the government to sign a Fossil Fuel Treaty.

Extracting and burning oil and gas “for decades to come” is a death sentence. There's a possibility of billions of deaths by the end of the century, yet Burnham is still considering approving Jackdaw and Rosebank.

For f***'s sake, Just Stop Oil.

London, England, UK 02/09/2026 .. Guess Who’s Back!?

Just Stop Oil activists today resumed a campaign against new oil and gas licenses as a government decision on plans for the Rosebank oil field and Jackdaw gas field is imminent, following a public consultation that concluded in August. JSO ended its direct action campaign in April 2025, claiming it had met its goal of ending new oil and gas licenses.. but now we have Andy who’s apparently less bothered by climate change.

Set to the inspired soundtrack of Steve Bray playing Beds Are Burning by Midnight Oil, and Mad World by Tears for Fears it was an altogether surreal Wednesday morning.

London, England, UK 01/09/2026 Mothers Rise Up held a protest outside Downing Street calling on Prime Minister Andy Burnham to tackle climate change and stopping new oil and gas fields such as Rosebank and Jackdaw.

The children held banners and home made placards as well as a giant icecream cone with a melting planet Earth.

In addition to today’s protest, around 30,000 parents have signed an open letter to @andy.burnham which will be delivered to the prime minister as well as around 100 hand written letters urging him to act.
